I enjoy watching painting videos yours included. I've been painting, from when gravity guns came out. I just wanted to let you know, in the beginning of video you were getting the fan and fluid nobs mixed up. The side nob is for fan control, fluid control nob adjust needle opening. Interesting that when you turn in on the fan giving it less air the spots got less. I guess it sent more air to the nozzle to help breakup the paint into a finer mist. The fan adjustment is mainly to adjust the width or shape of the spray. I been painting for years and never realized that. Thanks for the video. I learned something new today.

iam old school i learned to paint with the mbc deVilbiss spray guns back in the late 80s and early 90s, i don't think ill spend any money on this so called gravity guns and i get fantastic finishing with my guns, anyways great video as always.
@paulpaintshop1032 жыл бұрын
So called gravity guns use less air and less paint, are easy to clean so less thinners to waste, also they aren't as cumbersome to handle giving better gun control. If it's just a hobby suction feeds are ok, but professional use no thanks.
@dand39757 күн бұрын
I sprayed last week with a old Binks #7, and with a brand new generic gravity gun. Both guns sprayed the same single stage enamel. The piece I painted with the Binks#7 looked excellent, the gravity gun produced quite a bit of orange peel. About 15 minutes to clean the Binks #7, about 45 minutes to clean the POS gravity gun. I need a suggestion on a detail spray gun that works good with single stage enamel.

So on the fan your looking for a nice tight sprey pattern with minimal external like overspray effect and even? I'm learning this myself, also need to talk about air supply as thats where I have already gone wrong, the 1/4 quick couplers were strangling my air supply so much that my gun wouldn't make 10psi wide open, with 1.4 nozzle and pipe lenght, internal diameter and the couplers are important so I found, I'm using 15cfm 100 litre compressor. Good video thou, even cheap guns can do a fantastic job if you know how to set it up.

You're going to hate one of the best paint guns made: The Iwata Supernova. It can't be used with the fan wide open. If you try to use it that way it will split the fan which on the supernova is about three feet wide. 1 3/4 turns out from fully closed fan is perfect. Also, instead of using the cheater valve at the bottom of the gun use a diaphragm regulator like the RTI MR-1. With one of these you can come into the gun at whatever pressure you want and it regulates it to a precise PSI value.
@hunkydude3224 жыл бұрын
the Iwata could cost a million dollars but if you don't know how to use it it isn't worth chit to the painter.
@hunkydude3224 жыл бұрын
cool video, this video is for the newbies and with experience you'll get better and better. so later you can make a smart choice in buying your paint guns you don't need to 500 dollar or more on a paint gun to a fantastic paint finish, but if you do want to spend that kind of money it's up to you, just take of it so it can last you a life time.
