Mr Fraser is the easiest teacher to understand his methods and the greatest in my eyes since I was first bitten by the bug to airbrush. Was even honored to get 5 personal pieces of artwork done by his hands. To look at them each day drives me to learn more and more from his work. Something special about them that's hard to explain but I cherish them more than anything I own. Thank you for always showing us how to improve and learn Mr Fraser!!

Craig, your name holds weight in the airbrushing world, and we appreciate you brother. But if you did this video without paying homage to the late great Mike Lavallee, you would've jinxed the whole thing. Thanks. RIP Mike.🔥

Craig. In my mind you are the one that started the true fire I came to one of your first work shops in Lakewood NJ. Had a awesome time there with you Dave. An I forgot the other dudes name was it Nat. But he did the hot rod cartoon cars I suggested he do a lesson on it in Airbrush Action is am still brushing Thant’s to you. Take care

Wow, so glad to see you back in action Craig! Spent all my extra cash years back on your and Lavalee's vids and stencils. Still use them now and then when I get the urge to pick up the airbrush. I have a white car. Do you recommend flames on a white car? Or is it have to be a black bass?
@CreatexColors5 ай бұрын
Real fire can be done on a white car or any color, but the finished result will look much different. Please make a test panel first. Perhaps making realistic looking blue flames (with some teal) will work better for a white base. Thank you.

Sitting here watching and just realized how ironic it is. I had a full set of Mike LeValley stencils and a paint kit. Was halfway learning it and then a real fire destroyed all my true fire materials.

Man that really sucks. We're you able to salvage any of your home that burned? I live in Colorado and we recently had the largest structure fire in history and over 1000 homes burned it was an entire town pretty much it was devastating but no loss of life. Glad you weren't harmed hopefully nobody else was.

I have an idea I want your opinion on,., I want to paint a gas tank with a super imposed image., what im thinking, is start with a white or silver base coat, then lay the image onto the silver base coat with gold leaf.. then spray gold or yellow gold candy coats over the gold leaf, and the whole tank., , until the gold leaf is still visible when in the sunlight and I get good coverage on the tank.. do u think this would work?
@CreatexColors2 жыл бұрын
Yes. You should apply 405 UVLS Gloss Clear over the gold leaf, followed by candy2o, then catalyzed (2k) urethane clear. Please make a complete test panel of this before the actual paintjob. Thank you.
@randy1ization2 жыл бұрын
@@CreatexColors do you think I should use gold sizing to stick the gold to the clear after it dries? Im wondering if the clear will react with the sizing under the gold.
@CreatexColors2 жыл бұрын
Gold leaf generally sticks to 4050 without sizing. Please make a test panel comparing the use of sizing and any other process ideas before the actual paintjob. Thank you.

That is an older set made before 2020 when we switched to 4011 Reducer. Try mixing 4012 1:1 distilled water. Thank you.

The fire series was super cool! I can almost feel the heat from panel 1. A question for you. I want to use a protective and clear top coat. Spray Max and 2K looks like great products, but not practical for me. Does Createx make something that is clear and durable that mimics 2K I can spray with my airbrush? Thank you.

what are the differences between candy colors and acrylic inks? they seem almost the same for me
@CreatexColors2 жыл бұрын
candy20 are metal dyes, which are much more lightfast compared to inks. You can paint a car with candy2o, but inks will fade in direct light. candy2o also go to an increasingly darker value the more the color is built up, inks do not, which is necessary for this technique. Thank you.
@royalecrafts62522 жыл бұрын
@@CreatexColors do you know if candy20 will go on an acrylic base on some mdf board? Probably not but Im just asking thanks for the quick answer btw

Craig uses the Candy2O ratio opposite to other Createx videos I’ve watched recently. He uses 3 parts candy to 1 part 4050, but in other vids they use 3-6 parts 4050 to 1 part Candy. Which is preferable for coverage over metallics?
@CreatexColors3 жыл бұрын
Craig's technique for real fire with candy2o uses his own mix ratios; he wishes to promote bleeding. We recommend following the mix ratios set forth in the candy2o tech data sheet, and as you become more familiar with the paint, experiment with mix ratios then. For candy2o applied with a spray-gun over metallics, the mix ratio is 4050 6:1 candy2o. For airbrush a 1:1 ratio can be used, but you may find a ratio of 4050 3:1 candy2o to work better as it offers more control. Thank you.

So is there a logic or structure to the shapes you're creating, or are you just freestyling as you go?
