Hi good video. Can you use the wideband function on any band or does it need to be set to a VL frequency?

Hi Chris, If you are measuring on the vertical port then you must be measuring a vertical low transponder, if you are measuring on the horizontal port then you must be measuring on the horizontal low transponder.

@@SpaceTelevisionSA That's great thanks for your quick reply. All my Astra28.2 frequencies have WB next to the VL frequencies. I was just confused because you should be able to measure in Vertical or Horizontal when you set the L.O to wideband and your testing the right port on LNB.

@@SpaceTelevisionSA The penny has just dropped haha. If I'm correct, you cannot measure the HIGH BAND because of the 22KHz tone.

Hi @@chrisccs2112 , Why are you measuring on Astra28.2 degrees?

@@SpaceTelevisionSA Hi I'm based in the UK and I'm a aerial and satellite engineer. I only recently purchased the tab 4 so I'm still getting use to it. I had a Promax before. I do a lot of Sky Q work on Astra 28.2.

Hi sorry to trouble you again, I have one more question for you. My tab 4 meter wont register any frequencies below 11340GHz when In wideband mode. When I tune my meter to 10714, I get a out of range reading??? I thought the tab 4 could read the full wideband frequency range from 230MHz to 2.4GHz, my meter seems to register at 930MHz upwards which means I cannot check transponders like 10.714GHz in wideband mode. Thanks for your time.

Nothing mentioned about the symbol rate as that's very important 🤔

The LNB type does not affect the symbol rate. The video demonstrates how to change the local oscillator setting in the instrument to allow for the alignment of a dish using a wideband LNB. Symbol rate settings will remain the same and will not be affected.
