TY for this video. I was just going to start a sweater and discovered that despite my yarn being the same dye lot, some tonal skeins are lighter than others. So, will try this method. Many people recommend changing every 2 rows, but when working in the round, not sure how to do that. What's that beautiful yarn you're working with, btw?

Hi there! You are welcome ☺️ I always alternate tonal yarns… there always seems to be a slight difference for me too! 😅 I personally don’t like to change every two rows because I can’t ever seem to carry the strands in away that doesn’t cause puckering. This yarn is called Summer Puddle by Huck & Rae Fiber Studio - she’s a great dyer! 😊 happy knitting!

I noticed you're only carrying the lace that your stranding together with one alternation. Is this the best method for when you're working together with a strand of lace? I'm about to cast on with some Suri so I was curious what is best. 😅

Hi there! Are you making this pattern specifically? The answer is, it depends. The purpose of this video is just to show how to alternate whatever yarn you need to alternate. In this pattern’s case, I tell the knitter that they can either hold separate strands of mohair lace with bulky and alternate each set of strands OR they can just alternate the bulky and transition the mohair lace each time to be held with the working yarn. My preferred method would be to hold separate cakes of lace with the main bulky yarn and alternate to eliminate unnecessary extra tangles if having to frog. The lace transitioning back and forth may cause headaches. Does this make sense? If not, feel free to let me know! In the case of this video, I believe I started off by transitioning the mohair after each round and didn’t show that in the video for simplicity’s sake. I later changed to having separate cakes of mohair. I’m working with suri now and it’s so divine! Happy knitting!
