I've used Amsoil over 20 years now on every car I've had since and have used the power foam on most as well, with that said your application is wrong messy and bad for the starting systems. Hopefully I'm Johnny lately here with my advice and you've figured this out already.

Here's a tip. Instead of stalling out your car numerous time just take off the throttle body and clean it separate. Very simple. Then use the Amsoil Performance Improver (fuel treatment) and it will do the same thing without starting your car a million times.

he doesn't even need to do that, he had the guy hold the throttle wide open so he can spray it straight in. He wanted it to get into the cylinders so it can clean into there also.

Did on my corolla a couple years ago and filled the back yard up with black smoke. took about a week for it to stop smoking but well worth it. Major power boost!

Thats a lot. we never seen it smoke more than a day. It really does make a huge difference in performance. Love that power foam product.

Smoke coming out of the exhaust does not ultimately mean carbon is being burn. Most of the time it's a chemical like pale oil (found in SeaFoam) being burnt up.

That goes for everything..... Always read your instructions and manuals before you do anything. Also make sure you are able to do what it is you are working on. I put these videos up for informational purposes only. I use you tube for everything from how to drywall to getting the battery out of my droid. Removing deposits will change idle speed. If that ring of carbon and junk buildup is too thick on the throttle flap, it will open and stay there, thus raising the idle. That's common sense. When it's open it lets more air and fuel in. When it's closed more, it Naturally slows idle down because it's letting less air and gas in..its common sense...good job and good video. I just did my wife's Camry. 2.5 2010 with 53k, and it idles better, starts faster, starts quieter, and the idle dropped about 150 rpms on warm idle. I put about 3-4 ounces of seafoam in the gas as well, along with putting seafoam in the brake booster vacuum line and that car runs like a new one. Cleaning the intake is a must that more people should partake in. The results, if done right, are amazing.

Why don't you use a throttle body cleaner ? My other car is now in its 140k kms. mark and I only cleaned the throttle body once and still running smoothly.

i just pulled mine intake manifold off and sat it in a bucket of GUNK hosed it off and was just fine no wear and tear to engine.

I rebuilt my 2004 Cavalier that had sludge DRY STICK at oil changes, varnish, carbon. My mechanic uncle said he had always used a TOP OIL developed in 1923 called MARVEL MYSTERY OIL. MMO ??? After 4 OZS in each tank and 126 ozs in crank at oil change. Sludge gone after a month, engine quiet and mpg 36 Highway at 60 mph to 43 mpg. You can open an engine and clean sludge or treat it like a wash machine. AMSOIL is an excellent product by the way I researched it extensively for weeks.

When I did this to my 99 dodge dakota I worked the throttle body from under the hood and just kept the engine running until the can was empty.

That stuff does work in a pinch if no tune up is needed I used it on an Onan RV generator and it worked but Please change your oil after!

Excessive use of product. It should only smoke for a minute or two... A whole can is way to much, it shouldn't be smoking for a day. It should also be noted that the engines oil Should've been changed, now there is sludge and carbon deposits in the crankcase as well. Crank bearings and oil pump pickup screen now risk clogging up with debris. Don't shit on Amsoil, they make excellent products, but you need to follow their instructions, and use common sense. If the car was idling at 1600 RPM, you should be checking your IAC motor, and cleaning your MAF sensors with a Q tip and IPA. But guess a whole can of pony piss has managed to do that temporarily....

I jeard ford has a special coating on their throttle nodies and you can't use any cleaners on them. Have you heard anything like that

I really think the smoke may just be an EXCESS of product being burnt since you sprayed an entire can of this cleaner into the throttle body. I worked at a shop for 6 years and we did Valvoline and Gumout 2 part intake cleaners. Sometimes someone would open the vacuum can up too much and let the drip turn into a stream. If it was left like this too long, the car would blow white smoke just like this, especially when the second treatment was added to the tank. I used to believe in Amsoil products, but not so sure now. Seems like they're branching out with their products, making the "best" of every single treatment there is. Come on now! Aren't the statements of their oil heavy enough? Maybe it's legit. All I know is that we've run Amsoil Signature 0W20 along with the Amsoil filter designed for 25k miles in my wife's RAV4 for the 3rd year now and I think it'll be the last. We went about 16k miles each year and it seems to be getting a fair amount of carbon built up in the valve covers. Also, ever since the second year, the engine has started burning a half a quart every 8k miles or so. It didn't do this the first year. Of course I'll be told the problem isn't Amsoil though. If it's not too difficult, I may pull the valve cover on the next oil change and see how much damage has been done. I really wanted to believe in the promises Amsoil made, but the longevity of their oil doesn't appear to be trustworthy.

I don't believe in leaving in oil a year no matter what they say. I think if you ran the OE amsoil and had regular oil changes there wouldn't be any oil consumption. Anyone who leaves in Amsoil in their car for the first time will see rust in the oil if you leave in an area with a hot summer and cold winter. I agree with you John

Rampage4reel Well, unfortunately for them they have lost a customer due to their overpromising of their oil. I think I'll just switch to another oil and change it more often. A part of me wants to call Amsoil and explain to them what has happened, but I'm almost certain they won't even think of doing anything unless the motor has failed and then only after testing the oil and determining it was the cause. I wonder if they would stand behind their product when it comes to sludging, gumming, or varnishing? I may give that a try just to test my gut.

BIGbadJOHN5382 I think any oil company would try to get out of any type of gaurantee or what they advertise. Valvoline says they have some warranty that is 200k miles or more. They would definately get out of that somehow. I use the older SL Royal Purple 5w20 with an Amsoil EAO11 filter. The old RP is the same as the new HPS. Both have zinc and phosphorus and I really don't buy into everything they say about it but I trust it will protect my engine better since those additives leave a stronger film for a cold start. I have a 281 overhead cam engine and the OHC is the main reason why I use that. I do think Amsoils filters are the best out there but I don't believe leaving it in for 25k miles is safe. 10k miles would be the farthest I would go. I change the oil every 6k or when the weather changes even though you can go up to 10k with RP. I think when people drive in cold weather its really important to get the engine at regular operating temp before turning it off and letting it sit semi warm so there won't be condensation leading to rust and there is no way any oil co. can say condensation won't lead to rust. Another thing they should tell costumers is since Amsoil has strong detergents is with the first time using it don't leave it in the engine for the full recommended mileage. If someone goes from a junk oil to Amsoil the gunk from the junk oil will make the Amsoil dirty quick. I would give the SL RP a try or if you can't find that try the new HPS. I did notice a good difference when using it.

I never got more than 8,000 miles from Amsoil signature series. I have a GM car with the oil life sensors and the change oil light would come on telling me I needed an oil change. I trust the sensors in the engine far more than the extreme claims made by Amsoil. I switched to Mobil 1 extended drain and now manage 10,000 miles before the change oil light comes on.

Power foam works great! However with the use of Amsoil P.I This kind of cleaning is less likely to be required.

The vehicle should be driven to clear the product out. Trying to clear carbon by free revving with no load is not a good idea. In my experience WOT pulls while driving get rid of more carbon deposits safely.

I just used a whole can in my 07 accord and it never produced white smoke. 180,000 miles on it and it's never had any intake treatment. So, what, if anything, does that tell me? The check engine light did come on, however. I took it to Autozone and deleted the codes.

lol..let this be a lesson on not what to do...take the body out and clean it along with mass air flow sensor. Also clean the idle control valve. $10 says thats more important to this customers complaint. People never think of idle control valve.
