Wow, this is so cool to see you walk through the text in the ASV! It took me a minute or two to nail down the translation you were using. I like how the CSB translates v24 with "watch out" instead of "consider". I use the NASB02020 as my baseline, but I also utilize CSB, ESV, LSB, HCSB, NASB77, NASB95, NLT, and NIV - in additions to BHS & UBS3 - when doing my sermon prep. It just so happens that I am preaching on this passage this morning. I never thought to look at the ASV - I really like how they rendered "boldness" as in HCSB, CSB, NKJV, KJV, and NLT.

Hello. My pastor made me feel extremely guilty because I had to work the past 4 sundays. He put it on the level of idolatry. Also it felt like a rebuke and it was in front of everyone. What should I do in this situation? This really made my wife want to never go back & find a different church. It’s like every time someone misses it’s a big problem.

I under stand this exortation by the Apostle Paul. However ; If we go to any so called Christian church we should see the fruits of the spirit . Love , joy , peace and kindness. Not some church just going through the motions. I most recently was going to a fellowship called : Worship Generation. They were a group that rented out some time and space to have church and fellowship at a Baptist Church. I noticed one of the door greeters just staring at me on occasion as though I was some type of criminal. Just yesterday I went to visit this church. I reached out my hand to shake his hand. He moved back as though my hand had poison . His excuse was he had just got over a cold. He was not wearing a mask . Plus if he was sick he should not have even been at the church. The real reason he did not want to shake my hand is because he is no doubt a real white racist. Just like the Klu Klux Klan may think they are a Christian organization. Then the Associate pastor when I reach out to shake his hand . He squeezes my hand. Is this the fruits of the spirit ? I went to a men's Christian fellowship. I did my best to fellowship with those sitting around me. Then , that night went to the Saturday night fellowship. The pastor made it a big point to let me know the person I was talking to was a engineer. Was I suppose to jump and do back flips? The Holy Bible says : Do not be a respecter of persons. I have left this fellowship. They do not have the fruits of the spirit. Its more based on status quo and job position in life. More then likely all these church members live next to white people. If I by some miracle was their neighbor they would call the cops on me daily . For suspician of me selling drugs. Because I am a Hispanic. Note: We are not under the law. We are under grace. So if Apostle Paul wrote Hebrews he was talking to Christians . About fellowship . Not white racists . White racist feel comfortable together . This is how the Klu Klux Klan was formed . Jesus Christ said, " How can we say we love God we never saw and hate him we have never did see. Next : The Holy Bible says : To avoid the appearance of evil. Next the Holy Bible says: Have no fellowship with unfruitful works of darkness rather reprove them. Next the Holy Bible encourages us to be a fruit inspector . To see if they have the fruits of the spirit. If not they are not Christians . The pastor does teach the Holy Bible. However; Why is there some White Racists in his church congregation . Because in reality the pastor is also a White Racists. No blacks or black people are in this church. So I just left this church fellowship. I wrote this church up on Yelp. My posts were deleted or sent to the not reccomended section. Why? Because the truth hurts. So too often many cults and false teachers use : Hebrews chapter #10 verse 25 , as some kind of guilt trip to coerce people on some kind of phycological guilt trip to go to their fellowship as though it is mandatory. I would rather just sit and hear Jon Courson teach the Holy Bible on the internet. Then to go to some White Racist , Bigot organization. That only wants rich white people with some big high paying career . It does not matter how they use this Bible verse to make guilt trips on people. We should fellowship in a church service that welcomes all people. Plus show the fruits of the spirit not out of their mouth but by their actions. Actions speak louder then words. We see an example of the early immigrants that came from England. They came to America to be free of the King of England and of the Catholic Pope. After these early Christians landed in America. The very kind loving Native Americans gave these immigrants food and water. Then these immigrants from England known as Pilgrims killed and murdered millions and millions of Native Americans. Was this the love of God ? They came to America for freedom of religion . To worship God freely not by a dictatorship of the King of England or the Catholic Pope. Now then they killed millions and millions of Native Americans. Then placed them in concentration camps. Called : Indian reservations. To this very day. I have my own mind. I see the entire Bible verse as for what it really means. Not just a one sided view. There is two sides to the story then the truth. The Apostle Paul was only speaking to Christian brothers and sisters. Not White Racist hate groups. That their focus is on having fellowship with , Christian brothers . Not only white racists like their self. THE HOLY BIBLE SAYS : AVOID THE APPEARNCE OF EVIL. THE BIBLE SAYS: HAVE NO FELLOWSHIP WITH UNFRUITFUL WORKS OF DARKNESS RATHER REPROVE THEM.
