I like how you suggested opening the hanger face 20% to a square actual club face. I struggled using the hanger when I set it up in line with the actual club face. Great instructions!

I've got the hanger, very useful training aid for me as I used to struggle with setting the wrists and cupping leading to open club face. All cured now. The stack & tilt aficionados may not agree with some things the instructor says but he is yet to discover S&T:)

I just bought the hanger and I appreciate the instructional video you did...It has started to do wonders on my swing...now it's about hitting the ball then making the divot...getting there.

This thing works for sure! It forces me to turn my hands over on impact and hit the ball square! I've always wondered if I could use this when I'm actually playing haha

Mike, Have looked at several Watson hanger videos and believe yours is best and most comprehensive. Am told Victor Hovland uses the Watson hanger on the range at all events. Do I understand correctly that the hanger doesn't need to be touching my left wrist at address just soon after takeaway begins? Also, am not sure what a neutral position in the backswing or at the top means. Is it possible to have a poor position at the top even when the hanger is touching the left wrist?

Michael , great instruction and detail to leverage this training aid. Definitely going to get one and practice with your advice. Just subscribed to your channel and plan to check out the rest of your videos. Keep up the great work!! Thank you!!!

Great video, but why do you have the hanger open about 20 degrees vs. inline with the club? Thanks!

can you use this for driver or just irons?

kind of embarrassing but I just got one....attached it onto the 7 iron and over a period of 30 minutes I hit a lot of solid shots but the device bangs into the inside for my lead forearm and I developed an actual bruise ! Any suggestions? I'm guessing that at impact with ball/turf it separates from forearm and then bangs into it as I hold position.

Michael, great video. Quick question on how how hard the left part of the Hanger should be pushing on the left forearm throughout the different points in the swing?

Michael, in am having trouble with stability at impact to release. ( I feel like the hanger is causing me to flip with my hands at impact)
@59Rossie3 жыл бұрын
Hands will not flip if hanger maintains contact with inside of left wrist throughout the swing.

I just ordered my hanger and waiting for delivery. I've seen several videos where the hanger is square to the clubface and others where it's slightly open. What would be the advantages/disadvantages to both positions?
@MikeyGolfPGA6 жыл бұрын
20 degrees (approx.) Open for the full swing to allow the club to rotate a little more in the full swing. In pitching and chipping there is much less face rotation required which is why we keep it neutral when pitching and closed when chipping to eliminate excess wrist action and face rotation.
@joeristau81436 жыл бұрын
Michael Midgette would the same open rule apply to driver as well?
@MikeyGolfPGA6 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely...open with full swings, neutral with pitching, closed with chipping

Just bought one of these and like what it does. Seen video on squaring the Hanger Club Face to real club face. This video says 20* Open to real club face. Please straighten out my confusion.

Michael, why do you leave the false club head 20 degrees open? Can you give me the pros and cons for this as opposed to having it set at dead center to match your real club head?
@MikeyGolfPGA5 жыл бұрын
hawaiianson1 Great question... at the top of the swing, the takeaway, and the downswing, the club will effectively be more square to your path in a full motion... it forces you to get the club in a better delivery/impact position on the way down, and forces you to release your left side to keep the clubface square, instead of solely training only your arms and hands to do the work (this will cause inconsistent strikes). Leaving theHANGER neutral or up against your forearm throughout the swing will not force your body to work as much or give you the proper feedback.

OK, I just read some other questions and responses answering my question. Thanks though!

Michael, secondly the hanger rubs a burn mark on the inside of my left arm. ( what am I doing wrong?)
@MikeyGolfPGA5 жыл бұрын
Dave Davis thanks for the question! TheHANGER is leaving that mark because it is either coming off your lead wrist in the downswing then flipping to make contact, and/or you could be increasing the shaft angle (raising the grip) through impact... I suggest you practice really hard in slow motion, keeping theHANGER against your arm the whole time, and you won’t have that problem anymore
@davedavis18995 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael. I will do more slow motion swings.

i think its because of the friction between your arm and the hanger when you hinge your wrist, try putting a wrist band around your arm, it keeps the hanger from rubbing your arm.
