@@adobemadesimple thanks for the quick reply! About 10 minutes ago I just realized that yours says “obsolete”. I have the newest version so it doesn’t have it. To work around it since I am just needing a line and nothing fancy, I just used the shape tool and used a rectangle to make a moving line.

In this case I would recommend using the pen tool to create a line - then add a crop effect to it and animate it - that way you can do it on two separate layers

Try nesting the clip BEFORE you apply the write on effect to it - this should remove that lag.

Hello! to animate a curve or half circle follow the same steps as in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIG9n3-pr8t9e68 create your curve using the tools inside premiere pro and then follow the steps in the video i linked - principles are identical keep in mind it will only work with lines, curves and letters that are created inside Premiere Pro

The half dotted issue might be just the preview window distortion - once you export this should go away - also yes the lag is very bad with this effect even on a good computer

@CluelessMillennial Hope the issues is fix but for anyone looking again check your brush spacing if its high ,there will be visible dots path instead of a line so make sure its something like 0.010 or close to that instead of a high number

@@adobemadesimple Does Write On only work on video footage? I have a map jpg that I imported into my feed, with some scaling and movement animations done to it. I tried to use Write On for that and the center cursor never came up when applied. Still not sure why it wouldn't display. I ended up drawing the lines I needed on my map in photoshop, then removed the map and saved as a psd of just the lines. Then I imported them into premiere and animated the crop tool on that psd so the lines would reveal themselves as the video progressed. Not the best solution, but it worked in this instance!
