I had a job interview 4 days ago and I am worried about 1 thing I said but I know I probably should not; "please could you repeat the question as I am so nerves". Do you think that was a bit stupud to say? And another thing - am I OK to E- mail the person who interviewed me and ask for an update on the interview result? Thanks.

Hi Annemarie, I have a zoom interview next week and I consider myself a lucky one to find your wonderful video in this time. Would you please give me your feedback about my answer to " Tell me about yourself" Thanks in advanced. "As an administrator and support staff, I tend to focus on connecting to people to develop my customer service, paying attention to details and sharpening my skills. Throughout my 8 years of experience, I’ve developed a reputation for understanding what the students and the clients want and how I can play a vital role to enable them achieve their goals. My Administrative Professional study enabled me to be proficient in Microsoft office and understanding the general office environment. Going forward, I’d like to take on a leadership role and develop teams to better serve the students and all other employees as well as attracting international students. Additionally to connecting with new people, I am someone who values learning and knowledge so I'd like to work in a learning institution, which is why I am interested in this position at the University."

Thank you for the comment, Amna. I'm glad this was helpful and I hope your job interview goes well. One recommendation: I have an updated free masterclass + workbook on how to respond to Tell Me About Yourself. You can find it here: www.speakconfidentenglish.com/confident-job-interview-course/masterclass-join/ You've definitely got a strong start here! You've provided a big picture view of your background/experience as well as what your future goals are and why this particular position is of interest. One recommendation would be to remove language that casts doubt. For example, I see, "... I tend to focus on..." The words "tend to" suggest that this isn't always what your focus is. If you eliminate those words, it makes your statement stronger and suggests that this is consistently your top priority.
