how to apply different materials on faces of an object in autocad

Applying different materials on faces of an object and not the entire object can be tedious when using solidedit command. Examples are walls with different paints or wallpapers on each side. Hello, I need help with applying materials to faces in autocad. When I apply materials (different or not) on faces, they disappear after reopen project. It won't happen, when I add material to the whole object, for ex. on cube. I try almost everything what I found: reinstall autocad, copy and paste object from old file to new one, but nothing work. Please help, if u could.

when you apply the material, press and hold your control key and left click at the same time on the material then drag and drop it on the face of the object.
