I agree with everything you’re saying as a 50-year-old woman who was alive for the launch of Estée Lauder double wear. However, I disagree on your color choice. I believe the color you chose is actually cool and you’re definitely a warm skin tone olive warm so you need to double check your color. It’s a cool color and you need a warm color. Fingers is absolutely the best way to apply for the smoothest application and it’s just stunning. Wear all summer and I’m 50 years old with dry skin in the winter and slightly normal in the summer and I wear it all summer long in Texas and summer for us is basically April until the end of November Now for knots out I will use house labs. It cosmetics, cc cream, the original not the illumination, not the nude the original because those can be all of those can be put on with fingers. I do have drawers and drawers of brushes and probably 10 brand new beauty blenders right now, but I utilize those you know in areas of Patch or if I just wanna just really smooth something out, I’m a fingers person for my face blush eyeshadow. I hate using fingers.

I always apply it with a damp sponge. My way is to dispense some of it on the back of my hand and spread it around which sheers it out and warms it up. Then I bounce the sponge on my hand and apply to the face. This makes the layers sheer and very even. You have to work quickly but that’s not an issue in my experience. I don’t need full coverage so I often mix it with a moisturizer or with an spf. Just make sure that the primary ingredients are similar in both products.

@@HelenAvery No you don't need much at all since it's so pigmented. Of course, we all need different levels of coverage, but one thing I learned from watching makeup artists who are good at creating a flawless and natural looking base, is that they like to go in with very sheer layers that they gradually build up as needed, and they'd rather use concealer in a particular area than putting on extra foundation there.

The Estée Lauder pump sold separately for £5 last for ages and for me it works better this way as you use every little bit. I am porcelain so very fair and have rosacea and dry skin and have used his for many many years. Now that the dewy look is the thing I use Curel intensive moisture cream underneath, wait for a few minutes and it goes on beautifully. Yes .. fingers are the way with this one for sure and you don't have time to faff about as it dries quickly but because of rosacea I have pretty much tried most foundations, long wear, bb cream etc and always go back to this. Now that I have the Curel cream and EL combo I have stopped trying different foundations. My skin is also much better using mostly dermatologists, Dr Sam Bunting,s skin care.

I use a very rich moisturiser anyway but I add extra of my moisturiser, I also use elf's radiant primer and I use Clinique concealer to cover my very high cheek colouring. To keep the foundation light yet full coverage, I completely agree with Helen. I use my fingers and I build up thin layers only where I need it. I add more on my cheeks, nose, where the pads of my glasses settle on the side of the nose and the remainder is kept on the lighter side. I have to set my foundation so I use the incredible NYX HD loose finishing powder and it keeps the overall look light and radiant.

That’s funny I put this foundation on this morning. I bought it half off from an Ulta sale. I was originally matched up by a makeup artist with 3C1 dusk because I look cool toned. The level is good but it’s pinkish in the sun. Horrible on me. I tried neutral shade that’s too peach. I settled on 2W2 rattan because they said it was olive but it looks orange on me. I need straight up muted green light medium and it doesn’t exist in Estée Lauder’s ranges. 😩 I can make it look presentable on my mature dryer skin by putting oil on my face first and before it drys completely I put the foundation on. With fingers. It goes on smooth and amazing. I tried mixing it with a drop of oil like some suggested but it doesn’t work out well. Not sure why. Thank you.

I wonder how many of us buy it on sale and it's not right, a huge number I bet! I had a similar experience. Plus, this foundation can oxidize strangely, which doesn't help! Like you, I do the oil beforehand trick and it works great like that! Thanks for leaving a comment, I'm sure you'll have better luck with something else, there's so much these days!

Thank you for this video. Does this cream and fundation works good in the winter too?
@HelenAvery11 ай бұрын
The cream is a great winter moisturizer, very thick! But with the foundation...I usually don't wear it because it looks too matte on my skin in the winter months. Hope that helps!

Yo esta base la llego a usar hasta en invierno cuando tengo la piel deshidratada solo que me hidrato bien la cara con los productos de la Roche que son excelentes y a la base le agregó un poco de aceite de argán o jojoba y me queda preciosa

I have never tried this trick but on the tips video of Estee Lauder, they recommended at one time to put a drop of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum in the foundation. That was suppose to make it have more moisture, Has anyone tried that? I just moved on to EL Futurist but it seemed like a good idea. I did like Doublewear ....my mature skin just made it dry on me,

Could you tell me why is there a version of double wear that has spf10? I can’t find any info online with the reason why?
@HelenAvery8 ай бұрын
Hi! I suspect they ALL have SPF 10 but they are marketed differently in different countries. In the UK they use SPF 10 in their product descriptions but not in the Americas. Perhaps because that's too low to be considered adequate and is therefore not a marketing benefit to listing it, or for a regulatory reason. But my guess is they're all formulated the exact same way no matter the country. Does that help? I'm open to hearing other informed opinions too!

Double wear actually has a 24 month expiration after opening, according to the box. Mine just hit the 2 year mark and is still the same as when I got it, so I'm trying to use up my half full bottle. I think it has really good preservatives. I have always used a pump with it, though, so I've never transferred bacteria from my hands into the bottle.
