Kelli, You’re right. Tutorials on KZbin have taught me so much, and I’m 60 years old! I think the hardest thing I learned from KZbin was a form of lacemaking, ,called tatting. Now, I’m interested in nail art, and am learning more each day. I figure the day I stop learning, is the day I need to hang it all up. Thank you for all you do!

Pam Miller 54 going on 55 here! I’ve learned a lot from You Tube: from cooking to Nail Art. I have learned tons from Kelli! I’ve learned terms like pigmented, formula, crelly, linear holo (yes I can actually identify that- pats self in back), flakies, etc. It’s funny how every field has its own terminology. I’ve tried nail stamping - need more practice there. Oh, and I’m part of her Galaxy Gang 👽 (fun with nail polish people, not the other kind of gang) Thanks for all you do Kelli! 🌺

I love this tutorial! This feels like a makeup look that I could/would be able to wear and do. I don't wear a lot of makeup partly because I don't know how to do fancy makeup looks and partly because I don't have the patience to do them. I feel like this is a look I could learn how to do if I felt like trying to do more with my makeup. (Seriously, if I wear any eyeshadow at all, I wear two shades, gold and cream shimmer. That's it.)

I'm sooooo blonde that I have to spend at least 5 mins on brows every morning, currently using dip brow with a brush, but would love to learn how everyone makes them ligher towards the front (bridge of nose) got a morphie pencil but wrong shade, gotta re-order a new one ... I so want to see everything from you! Like not glam, let's just say "working class ladies or boys" that wake up mad early and want to look good! And in style with all these new fads! Can't keep up! Again, sorry for the rant, lmao, may have had a drink or 3.... But mean every word!!! Haha

Try the winged liner with eyeshadow. It's easier with hooded eyes, forgiving, and doesn't take over the way that a liquid liner does. With my eyes, a regular ringed liner would be the only thing you would see.

Might I add, am totally grateful for the nails 101 series. I've been doing really basic nails for years, with the exception of tool-less nail art or embossing my nail art using a toothpick through a drying top coat of color over a contrasting base color on top of a base coat, if that makes sense. Originated by my not being happy with the top color supposedly transforming the base color & doodling/scraping color off. Happy accident as Bob Ross would say. Turned out surprisingly well. Thanks Again & gorgeous end result as always!

Thank you SO MUCH for this! You explain everything in a way that doesn't overwhelm or confuse me. You make this look like I can actually use this technique. Yes, please! This was great. I know my way around nail art, but makeup? Not so much. The rare times I do my makeup, I stick to the lightest of shimmers, so no one could tell if I messed something up. Loved this video, thank you. Do you have any tips on doing both eyes and brows symmetrically, or does that just come with practice? Were you freaked out to draw on your water lines when you first started, and does the pencil from your water line ever transfer onto your eyeball??? Also... could I ask what's the brand of your cool rainbow shirt?
@KelliMarissa6 жыл бұрын
Haha I think getting symmetrical takes time and practice, I definitely do each step on both eyes before moving onto the next (rather than one full eye at a time) I used to hate drawing on my waterline and my eye doctor actually told me not to do it that often but I'm used to it now - and yes sometimes I get it in my eye but it's easy to blink it out haha! Andreea, IT has been a long time since I watched this video, but I am watching it again now. I wanted to tell you what a good thing that was for you to declare that *you want alll women to have the power --- that certain power which knowing how to apply makeup correctly, brings". Women are fictionalized as bring selfish, & being unable to appreciate or share with others, or not even deserving of being called "Heroes", and not deserving of even having this power, at all. . It's been a long time, but it seems new and fresh--- the things that you said... And the way you teach your viewers, nothing ever seems to get old --it's always inspiring😍👍

Yay for makeup 101!!!! Do you think you could do one of foundations? Different formulas, how to apply them, how to guess which one is right for you if you shop in stores without color matching.... By the way, I love how you did your eyeshadow for this video. How funny that your wing makes your lashes look smaller, to me it makes them appear fuller. I do a kind of tiny wing and a thin line through only half my eye because they are quite hooded and my lid would look all black if I did a thick line. Still I've taken lots of tips from how you do your makeup while learning to do mine, so more tips and tutorials would really be appreciated!

So basically I only wear it if I am dressing up to go out with hubby or with friends. I've never really known how to apply eyeshadow all that well because of this. Definitely going to try your method! It looks so nice on you, hopefully it will look half as nice when I do it on myself! Downloading & saving this vid to keep as a reference as we speak!

I clicked because of your hair but I stayed for the explanation. I'm whatever level is before "absolute beginner"! There's so much to learn! I've never worn make up so I'm still trying to learn the terms for all of this stuff. I thought there was just eyeshadow, eyeliner, the stuff that goes all over your face (powder?), blush and lipstick. Thanks for your video. You gave off a really laid back energy that made me feel like I can probably do this. I love your hair!
@KelliMarissa4 жыл бұрын
Haha I'm so happy you found this video helpful! It's definitely tough to navigate because there isn't much info out there for absolute beginners, but the best thing you can do is just start playing around and see what works for you! And thank you for the kind words :)

@@KelliMarissa So I watched your brow video. Baby steps right? I bought black ink because I have black hair but no matter how thin I fill in, I end up with sharpie brows. Should I have gone with a dark brown instead or is this something I'm supposed to get use to? They look soo dark even though I have black hair! I wish they would just grow out but I'm too old for that I guess because these vitamins aren't doing a thing lol

OK. how do you brush along the under eye without tearing up? lol Ditto for mascara, I always tear up with dealing with the edges.

This was awesome. I am just learning how to work with makeup (even though I am old enough to be your mother) and these kinds of videos are the most helpful. What liquid liner would You use to start with??
@KelliMarissa6 жыл бұрын
I think NYX Epic Ink Liner is a great one to start with because it's precise and inexpensive! I'll do a video about wings :)

This is a great idea... I have been looking for something like this. I haven't worn makeup in a very long time and am very confused about all the items for make up. I never used primers, setting powders, etc. They actually didn't exist when I started out. It was eye shadows, foundation, mascara, and lipsticks... I know, I'm old... LOL Love this and looking forward to more!

Really helpful video! I used to do a 3 colour blend just on the lid with lightest inside and darkest outside way back when I was in high school (in like 1998 haha) but this whole eye crease thing is totally out of my league :D And being from an era where brows were plucked and painted on in a skinny line the whole idea of painting on enormous eyebrows (you don't do it, but loads of people do!) is insane to me :D I never wear makeup (I don't leave the house much!) but I'd like to see more of these vids :D

Haha I could never get behind the tint brow trend! I'm glad they've thickened because I've got (naturally) thick brows and everyone made fun of me when I was a kid! I usually just fill them in now haha but yeah some brows are even more massive.

I'd be so down for a makeup 101 series!! :D finally found the time to watch this vid and follow along the instructions. And I'm fairly happy with the result! ^^ thank you for the more in depth explanations! Tbh this "nude" look is already the most dramatic eye makeup look I'd do even for a night out haha (except for a night of dressing up like Halloween or something). I'd be interested in a 101 vid about brushes? I have a few but whenever I've watched a makeup tutorial (even this one) there's more used than I own 😅 Also maybe do one about lowkey highlighting /contouring? Not so much that it looks "like makeup" basically, just bringing out the good features/doing a hint of optical illusion ^^
