Should I apply my wife's open work permit using my GC key or should she create her own GC Key and apply? Also, is it a mandate for me to have a job first then only can I apply for the spouse open work permit? Please help me.

Hi Gaurav, you'll need a high skilled position for her to extend her work permit, you don't need a job for your child to extend his study permit. Depending on expiration dates, sometimes we can apply together, we try to avoid applying for the visitor record for the spouse.

Yes, if the NOC will change to a skilled TEER, then you can apply for a spousal open work permit.

Yes you can, some border crossings are restricted to specific days and times that they will allow you to flagpole. It’s often best to call ahead.

Pls is it advisable to apply for SOWP together alongside with the study permit at the same time or someone should wait till the time the main applicant arrived in Canada. I would like to know the success rate of the approval when the two applications is done together at the same time. 2. If someone needs to wait, for how long the person needs to wait after the main applicant has arrived before applying for SOWP? 3. What is the assurance that the SOPW will be approved. Thank u
