Hello. If you use an applicator than you can wipe at the same time. with Brush or roller application you do have to wipe off excess. Thank you

Can you tell us the specific brand and size of applicator you are using to apply the Ipe Oil with? What kind of brush are you using to rough in the joint spaces? How soon after application is okay to walk on? Thanks!

Hello. We recommend to use Shur Line applicator because you can control how much oil you apply. For place example around railings you can use a regular paint brush. Drying time depends on time of application. Usually on normal summer days it should dry in 8 hours but we do recommend 24H to be sure. I hope that helps.

Hello Michael. We do recommend to either sand or to power wash before application of Oil.

Hello. If you are using the shur Line applicator you should be able to control the amount of oil that goes on the deck boards. If you put too much oil on the applicator it could happen that will leave heavier excess on top of the boards. If that is the case you will have to try to get back and wipe it off.
