The foundation I used in this video from Revlon is great; however, I have now switched to Kryolan's Digital Complex Foundation. Alternatively, consider a liquid-to-powder foundation (I think Bobbi Brown has such a foundation) or a powder foundation.

Is it a flat foundation brush? I achieve the best finish with a brush, as used in the video. Specifically, I recommend the Zoeva Buffer Brush. Alternatively, you can try using a damp makeup sponge, such as a beauty blender. :)

For skincare, have a look at a Niacinamide and/or Retinol (lowest strength) product :) For makeup, you may want to have a look at a pore minimising or smoothing primer. Like the one from the Ordinary, Spreadability Fluid Primer

Hey :) Well, how would I set up this video since it isn't easy to just say what shade you have to pick if you can not try it🙈 You either have to try it in a store or online where you can get samples or send the foundation back if it isn't the right shade. That's what I do myself :) The foundation shade should match your skin tone as close as possible, and if you like to use a foundation + powder (which is tinted) in the same routine. Use them in the same shade, or the powder or foundation shade a bit lighter, but this also depends on the coverage you want to get since this can influence the shade-appearance with the rest of your body :)

I attempted applying foundation like this on my mother, but omg it does not work well. I ended up stippling the foundation in areas with the flat brush and then blending them in with a damp sponge. The sponge was the tool that made the most difference. I guess if the skin has a lot of texture, its better not to do this buffing technique. On me it doesn't work well either because I have a lot of texture from acne. It must be for people with smooth, exfoliated skin.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 5 жыл бұрын
May I ask what products and tools you've used and especially, how much did you use? As I've done serval makeups on mature skin and I've always used brushes to apply the makeup especially the base like foundation and I've never had any issues...🤔
@tedoymisojos
@tedoymisojos 5 жыл бұрын
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I used the same foundation: Revlon Candid. I used a flat brush from Makeup Geek. with the brush I can see the product on the skin, and it catches on areas with flaky skin. When I used the sponge it looked seamless and undetectable. It pressed down and smoothed over flaky areas.

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Maybe I needed a denser brush? Ill try a couple different things.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 5 жыл бұрын
@@tedoymisojos The Revlon Candid foundation is a bit more drying (which is why I don't need to set it) but for mature skin, I would choose a moisturizing/dewy foundation that does not grab to those areas or really just go with a BB/CC cream or tinted moisturizer😊
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 5 жыл бұрын
@@tedoymisojos it could be because of the brush but I would say that the foundation is too drying for mature skin, also using something that's a bit lighter or mixing it with a bit of moisturizer😊

@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet no I cannot do the notification bell for all the people I'm subscribed to, or I would be spammed very badly everyday with emails telling me how many people uploaded a video. I hate that stuff in my inbox so I don't have any notifications, but when I open KZbin all the videos from the people I'm subscribed to usually eventually pop up. When I hear people on their video saying "Be sure to ring the notification bill so you will get a notification *every single time* I post a video, I think: "oh yuck!! What an awful turn-off-,- all that email-,-all those notifications! That's the biggest turn-off in the whole world, to me, but people say that over and over, usually old ladies who don't understand how much spam you can get and maybe very young people who don't realize how many people you are subscribed to, not you of course since you are a "veteran" 🤗

What kind of a makeup artist are you. You should never dip foundation brush directly into foundation. You should don’t foundation all over your face with finger then buff in with a high quality foundation brush. Brushes do not absorb foundation do you are using to much product.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 3 жыл бұрын
If you are cleaning your brush or only using it for yourself, there is no issue. But also it is widespread in the industry to not do it, since most of the time you have not much time, and you do not care much about it. Application methods vary, and it does not matter what technique you are using as long as it gives you the results you want. Also, most brushes are manufactured in the same factory, so you can get an affordable brush that has the same quality as the more expensive one. And lastly, the bristles do not absorb the foundation, but the product sits around them, and therefore, it "absorbs" the product, and because of the liquidish texture, a lot of product will be lost.
