My own "got it everywhere!" isn't about plain old glitter, but the mylar "confetti." I've decided that I definitely prefer the mylar flakes in threaded-cap pots, rather than in those sectioned plastic bins with the built-in flip-up lid. When you flip up those lids, that mylar gets EVERYWHERE. It was last week that I was messing with that stuff, and I'm STILL trying to rub those sparkly bits off my desktop! They're also hard as hell to work with; I use a soft eyeshadow brush, but I make sure to do it over a paper plate, because it's just gonna fly everywhere. Then you have to use your efile to get rid of the bulges they make!

Rubber cuticle pushers help pushing the glitter in place bc it doesn't stick to the polish
@andriaduncan50324 ай бұрын
I was having that problem with mylar flakes, and I decided to try applying the "foil transfer glue" to help keep the flakes in place until I could cure and then apply either a topcoat or translucent colors, and it worked a lot better than just trying to stick them to the tacky layer. The foil transfer glue is a lot stickier than the tacky layer.

This is so clever! I have 2 questions. 1. Do you think this technique would work with a mix of slightly larger glitters as well as the fine glitter you’re using and 2. Is the resin plate acetone resistant?
@femketjeNL3 жыл бұрын
Yes, it definitely works with bigger glitter too, but I find yoy really need to work the mixture more with those to get the bigger glitter to lay flat. The resin plate is as far as I had acetone on it pretty resistant. I wouldn't leave pure acetone on it for long, but nail polish remover with acetone doesn't affect it :)

What brush type are you using to apply the glitter?
@femketjeNL5 ай бұрын
I used a flat synthetic brush from pink gellac :)

I need to try this next!😍💖 This one time I was working with a holographic chrome powder and left it on the living room table, and my little sister came and spilled it all. Now out living room table has holographic specs all over!.. I don’t know if I should be mad or happy🤩🤣

Any tips for chunky glitters? I have very small very curved fingernails and even the small stars will not lay flat on my finger - I have tried holding the down while the polish dries and then adding multiple layers of tops coat... I always end up cutting off the edges of the glitters that sticks back up. Any way to curve or bend the glitter so it doesn't stick up?
@femketjeNL3 жыл бұрын
I've done a video on how to work with different types of glitter years ago, I tend to place them one by one in a thicker layer of topcoat. That way the edges really settle into and get capped in by the topcoat. Add an extra layer of topcoat after it's dry 😊 also, if that doesn't help, use a foil glue instead of topcoat layer to press the glitter into ✨
