I always use the “hinge” method. You put the screen protector on your device with all foils still on. You align it the way you want and then you stick some scotch tape (or any tape as long as it sticks well) to the protector and the side of your device creating the hinge. I usually do this on the longest side, and you want make sure you get both corners secured and then stick some more tape in the middle for more support. You clean the devices as per instructions, peel off the foil, and flip it back on your screen 🤩

Just to elaborate after 2 days: I tested a bit more and it still works just fine. I tested around on Desktop mode. I did the multi-selection thing with my mouse where I click in the center of the desktop and create the square to select. I hovered the square along all of my screen. Sometimes a little faster, sometimes slower and never did the connection break.

I bought it for my 512gb and the screen protector caused my touch screen to have input issues. I contacted support and sent them videos. I’m already using the second one that was included since I thought the first might have been defective, but they both cause the same issue. I would wait and see if more 512gb owners experience this issue because you could save money by getting a cheap screen protector from Amazon if they are both going to cause the same problems.

So glad you include 2 screen protectors, during installation of the first attempt, a tiny piece of dust snuck its way in after spending 30-45 minutes meticulously removing all traces of grease from the screen, and I got it a little crooked. Second attempt perfect though.

FYI the directions included with the tempered glass were a little bit different for me, but either way might work. Though I think the included directions might be better. Basically, the included directions told me to leave the sticky layer on the screen protector so it is NOT exposed. Then put 2 "hinge" stickers on the bottom of the screen protector with the unexposed sticky layer facing down. Half of each sticker will be on the screen protector, and half of each sticker will be hanging off (these will be removed later, but will allow you to keep the screen protector in place while determining placement on the Steam Deck). After adding the hinge stickers, place the screen protector (without exposing the sticky layer yet) on the steam deck, just to determine placement. The 2 hinge stickers should be partially hanging off of the screen protector, so once you get the placement of the screen protector just right, you can adhere the hanging ends of the 2 'hinge' stickers to the bottom of the steam deck to keep the screen protector in place. Then pull the screen protector back from the system so it sort of swings down, like a hinge, so it is hanging from the steam deck only by the hinge stickers. Now remove the plastic covering the sticky layer of the screen protector. Now that the sticky layer is exposed, you can flip the screen protector up and onto the Steam Deck and thanks to the hinge stickers, it will fall into the placement that you chose. Then, like the video above shows, I ran my finger slowly across the center of the screen protector from left to right. You will see the adhesive sort of spread along the screen. Then you can 'brush' out any air bubbles with an included card thing. It worked great for me. The only thing I'm unsure of is how accurate the touch screen is with the screen protector, but I didn't test it enough before applying the protector to know for sure. It seemed slightly less responsive than I expected when I played a Valve tech demo called "Aperture Desk Job", based on the Portal series to get you familiar with the Steam Deck. In part of the demo, I had to write my name on the touchscreen, but with the screen protector, it was actually a bit difficult and I had to press a bit hard. But other than that, if you don't use a lot of touch screen gaming, I think the protector seems good.

My screen was clean and I put on perfectly and was happy and then at the end there's a little dot on one side causing a bubble that won't come out. I did everything correctly though so that's super annoying. One of my protectors must have came with this nick. Wish more than 2 were included for the price cause they're good but I just got a jank one. Mine also did not come with a squigee I had to use my own I had from another company

I used a different brand of tempered glass and used the hinge method. When I put the glass in place, I kept seeing bubbles underneath it so I kept lifting it up to clean the screen and try to keep the bubbles out, probably something I shouldn’t have done, I admit, it got to a point where it wouldn’t stick anymore so I gave up.

No you won’t loose Touchscreen responsiveness. Yes it’s totally worth it. The only tempered glas out there fitting so perfectly on the Steam Deck. I tried multiple ones, no one achieved DBrands quality.

I wish Dbrand included a guiding frame because trying to hold the screen protector by the arrow tabs is fucking stupid. I had to go through the first screen protector because my hand are shaking and I couldnt align it properly the 2nd time I managed to get it on but it’s not even on all sides no bubbles but a few specs of dust. *Vent Warning* These instructions did not serve me well. I don't see how they are claiming that you can sit it on the screen and align it before pressing it across the middle. You literally have to free-float this thing all the way down to the screen, which feels impossible to get perfect. It was a waste of money for me, as I F'd up both of mine. I should have read through the comments before attempting the installation I guess. Anyone smart enough to read through the comments before installation, don't follow these instructions unless you're a surgeon. The 2nd time, I tried starting from left to right to try and align it correctly. Unfortunately, I had to lift the corner bc it was a little off, but after lifting it at a corner, no matter how gently you lift it, it will never fully stick to the screen again. Definitely find a way to float the protector above the screen to align it and then let it down. Can't believe something like this isn't included. Smh.
