I'm confused why nailtech s think building up the apex cuticle should be big bc in my opinion it looks unnatural bc real nail aren't big I'm confused

I agree, im not a big fan of all that bulk so close to the cuticle. I feel like the apex should be a little lower and closer to where the extension is built or tips applied 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree. I learned way back in the 80s how to do acrylic nails. I don't remember making a thick apex. I'm an old lady I don't remember where I parked the my car neither. Seriously, I'm studying to reinstate my cosmetology license. I have to do state board all over. It's OK I took a 30 year break because I was in the Navy and changed careers. I got out of the Navy in 2006. I was doing other things. I'm still too young to retire but I'm too old to start something too new. Cosmetology is good because I can work where I want and have some freedom. I have to test again, but my school hours still count. That's good at least. You younger ladies are motivating me to build my skills back up.

Hi! So I don’t sand the tips then the glue won’t work right? I tried glueing the tip straight to the tip and it wouldn’t work 😭

Yes you gotta sand the shine off of the tip so the nail tip will stick with the glue!

This is just for practice then right? You can't remove the nails and sell as a press on after??

You can remove the nails after so you could sell them as press ons if the nail tips you put into the hand are the same size as whoever is buying them. You would just have to file some of the nail tip part off (where is slides into the finger/fake hand) so it is flush where the acrylic starts. If that makes sense
