No as they have ISBN numbers. Unless it’s a low content book that has no ISBN. You would click unpublish and archive.

You can with images that you have rights to. You can't do that with any image you find on the internet.

Let's say when you look in your reports page under orders will your total books still include the archived books as well?

Excellent question. The answer seems to be yes. I tested a few yesterday and my overall books total did not go down.

Everyone has a right to remove records of themselves online. I think in refusing to remove or delete a title completely, Amazon is opening up itself serious legal challenge by some determined person or persons. And that case will be won. You cant continue to advertise or link someone to a product online, if they no longer wish to be part of it. There is a right to privacy that no company or entity can trump. You solo published something on your own, you no longer want records of it on Amazon website or any other site, that's your right. So yes, you have a right to completely delete all your books, low content or not. And if a library is unable to get a book off its record, it may well be that they already have a physical copy. So there is little you can do with physical copies. But in this virtual world, you should be able to remove a book completely in Amazon, with Amazon not being permitted to show any record of it online. The legal challenge to them will be a thing to see if and when it happens.

It will more than Amazon it will be all the bodies that are involved with ISBNs. Once that is created it is for life. You can have the book unpublished but there will still be a record of it if it has an ISBN, similar to National Insurance Numbers here in the U.K.

Actually no. The library would have the physical book, so practically there is little you can do about it. Amazon can take down any book completely especially in this digital age. It's the person's property. They have complete rights to it. You need to think critically to challenge these notions or else people will be taken advantage of.
