@GetThisHere101 I believe the little plastic film that the buttons hit is where the problem is at. I can't get it tight it stays loose and I have it on there fine I think when the PS Button hits it is not being recognized or something. But the red light on the controller does comes on...

@tdtzegil This is what I suggest... close the controller and screw all the screws fairly tight, this allows the pressure to push from the green film on the board and with that pressure just as you did when you had the back cover off and the pressure from your fingers holding it together it should compensate when fully assembled. If that doesn't work then make sure the green film and the board has a solid connection to eachother

Thanks for helping, but there is in fact a small black foam piece which if not inserted correctly the controller will not work without. The foam pad goes underneath when you clip the ribbon board back on through the two posts. I didn't see it in the re-assembly, which is why quite a few people are having this problem. Good job on uploading the video about the reset button, there probably are others who made that mistake instead.

I have a different version of this controller. The top part that goes over the R and L paddles slots into the rear and front of the case, resulting in a nightmare to close together. They have to be out together in a specific order or the paddles pop out. I lost the springs twice as well cos of it. It didn't have a chasis for the rumble motors either, they screwed to the case.

dammit i wish i had saw this video sooner! my niece dropped the controller and when i pressed l3 it would run and switch weapons on bf3 so i bought a new controller. i opened the broken one to take the battery and put it in an old sixaxis but i forgot how to put then controller and stumbled upon this video. As soon as i heard you say to make sure the chips aligned correctly i new i could fix it. Viola i did! thanks man.

HEY DUDE! Cheers for the video! I put on some green analog sticks and pieced it all together. The PS button didnt work (it wouldnt push in) so I slackened the screws on the back and it works haha. the d-pad doesnt feel right either but I cant be fooked takin all apart again :P Im happy with it..and quite proud of my attempt. :D:D:D again, ta for showing me how its done!

I love your tutorial but could you please answer my QUESTION? When im done reassembling my controller, there is always extra space under the analog stick!! ALWAYS :( You can see the inside of the controller if you move it forward, does this happen to you?! And do you know how to fix it?

Can someone help me out with reconnecting the plastic green circuit thing to the trigger buttons? 😅 I guess I should have looked up a tutorial on how to disassemble the controller in the first place, but I wasn't really thinking. My sister's dualshock 3 controller would act kind of a spazzy with the buttons, so I figured it had gotten a lot of dust inside. Went to open it up and the circuits just kind of slide clean out of the triggers! Wasn't expecting that. I've been trying to find a tutorial that shows that part, but I haven't found any :( if anyone could help me out that would be great! I haven't been successful trying to get it right on my own and I won't wanna mess them up

it may not be seated correctly into the slot where the triggers go when you put the two plastic housings together to close the controller. There are rails where the triggers align.

You make it look easy. When I tried reassembling, the "L" side of the controller feels obstructed and the controller won't close together. If I force it, the L2 button won't press down properly. No clue what is the problem.

Dude, I took my controller apart MONTHS ago because the buttons were sticky. Easy to take apart, easy to clean, really hard to put back together. I watched your video, and only had to pause it briefly two or three times. Only took slightly longer than 10 minutes to completely reassemble my controller. The shoulder buttons were previously the hardest part, and you made it REALLY easy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

if one of them is disconnected, if I remember correctly it will either not work or not as much power will go to the rumble.

@@fckgooogle1000x I think there was but I cant remember that much, I just remember 3 foam pieces on the back part of the controller (one in the center and two more for the vibration motors to rest on).

@@fckgooogle1000x Mine had foam on vibration motors. It also had the 3-legged piece, but didn't have clips around the rumble pads. The case (upper half) also didn't have those shields around R1 buttons like the video author's case did. I think there are quite a few versions of DS3 out there which is kinda messed up.
