That's awesome!!! I think I'm going to take mine out this morning and fish the harbor for a bit. The kayak is fun, but sitting in that thing for hours at a time is not fun. Hopefully I'll get something to post in the tube!

i've been using boot waders with my cumberland for a couple years. Bass Pro has fins that works with boot waders. my stocking foot waders lasted a season from walking from parking lot to lake, i'm on my second season with my boot waters.

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I'll most likely get cheap stocking waders for this when the bite heats up. The walk from my vehicle to where I launch is no very far, so wearing the stockings out is not much of a concern. I have body-boarding fins that seem to work fine for now. I may just get water[pants] and put surf booties on over the leg bottom - it's more for just preventing water from going all the way up to the jewels - if you know what I mean...

@@StartFishingToday Thinking you fish the bays? I spend about 8 weeks broken up between June and Sept in the Eastern Sierra Mountains. Thick neoprene is the answer.

Yes, that is correct. I live coastal SoCal. The ocean is my home. Though, I do plan on using my float tube and kayak more inland bodies of water going forward. So, fo now, the lighter stocking waders or pants are fine. If I do go to inland water during colder months, then yeah, stocking neoprene. I use neoprene boot waders in the ocean because we have stingrays. They are great, but they do hold a lot of heat, so I start sweating after a while.

I liked mine until it developed a pin hole leak that I could not locate. I carried a hand pump to reinflate periodically. Also, the tide currents kept me drifting in Newport Harbor. Bottom line, I returned if to use the kayak and anchor setup. I hope it works out for you because the simplicity is amazing.

If it develops a leak, you should be able to remove the bladder, fill up and submerge into a bathtub to locate the leak. As for the tide/current, I will mostly use this for deeper inside the harbor in the docks where the current has less of an affect. You can also use the anchor on the float tube...just like on the kayak. There are plenty of d-rings to hook a clip to . I also plan on using the float tube/kayak in freshwater lakes, ponds, reservoirs. Exciting times ahead!

I have the same float tube and it’s the best! It sits high up out of the water. The only minor issue is sitting higher up out of the water makes it a bit noisier when kicking the fins but other than that this float tube is awesome! I modified mine with rod holders,custom hard deck instead of the appron(bolted a boot tray to the pvc that folds up and down) and custom trays inside the pockets. I was wondering what cordless portable air pump you are usually by to inflate the bladders? I have the hand pump that works great but the cordless pump is nice. Being an excessive modifier I want to get one! What make and model is the air pump your using in this video?? You will be very pleased with this float tube for sure!!

I use a Coleman QUICKpump for inflatable beds.

How do you store it? Would it fit in a tote?
@StartFishingToday
@StartFishingToday Жыл бұрын
Personally, I just let out about 30% of the air in the bladders and just lean it in my garage. 30% allows the air to expand with heat and contract with cooler air. If you leave the air in, the heat will expand the bladders and possible make them burst. Yes, you can easily fit all in a tote, but it has to be a big tote, like 40-50 gallons because the seat takes up some room.

@@ssrc30 I stand corrected, bladders are now available. Expensive, $350, but they do throw in the nylon tube cover and seat.

@@paulobainz1210 Sounds like the only option lol. I know Classic Accessories has bladders on their site ($72 a set) but they've been out of stock for quite some time now.

Fortunately, I have not needed a replacement bladder for mine. Of course, if I used it more often, I would probably be in a similar situation as you...

@@StartFishingToday Bladders aside, not even valves are available. A common cause of leaks.
