What about the fuzzies you pulled off ? Doesn't the new panel require something for the window to rub up against.

Yes, the window felts need to be replaced, but we did that as a separate project.

Use a cut off wheel to cut those staples from the back , and the felt will just pull off

What size an where can I purchase the rivets and washers? Also what's the brand of the contact cement? Thanks for the video, it was very informative

The rivets are 1/8"diameter x 1/4" or 3/16" long, depending on your panels. I have found that if you a body hammer and a dolly, you can get even better results. The cement is Weldwood, and can be found online or at any upholstery supply house.

Its best to do that glueing outside, even using the heat gun on vinyl. outside.

If you mean the top cap, you can buy plastic ones, they are not nice, but it works. Another option ebay, you can find a set there, often as part of an old complete panel that needs restored.

So is there a logical reason you had the top steel piece backwards to lay out the drilled holes ? The curved part goes away from the upholstered side. Just scratching my head here...

We used the opposing side upper to mark the holes. Probably not the most efficient way of illustrating this process, I can certainly see where that could create some confusion.

The most difficult part of this job is working with the two layers of vinyl over the steel panel top. How did you make that work so it stays where it's supposed to and looks good? You blew right over that. You started to show it...then went right to the second layer. Disappointing...
