A screwdriver bit is important, but a hex bit is good too.

Download the product manual from the IKEA website and print it out. And go to your nearest IKEA store and ask for the screws you need. Then Ikea will give it to you.

It is possible with a driver. However, it will take a lot of time and, above all, it will be very difficult.

I put mine together with the tools that were included. Some of the screws are tough to get in tight enough, but I made it work. My suggestion is to wear work gloves if you do it with the included tools, this will make it much easier. My hands were getting sore from the small wrench/allen driver and I put on gloves which made it much easier.

Is it possible to use the Lönset base instead of the standard base that comes with the Slattum bed?

It's possible, but if you use a Lönset, it's high, so the mattress comes up on the bed frame and it doesn't seem to be fixed.

The middle bar you mentioned applies only to large beds. The middle bar does not apply to the bed in the video.

I wouldn't use it in my house. I am working on furniture assembly. So, these videos are videos of visiting another house and working on it. So I put on a mask and work on it.
