Literally just bought one of these for £25 from Sainsbury's and had the same frustration! Trying to aline those outer lines for no reason. I nearly took it back and broke it in half over the customer services desk but you have just saved me a criminal damage charge!! So thanks!!

cheers griff, i was looking at the outer gaps and trying to force it. did it in 10 seconds after you said ignore outer and get inner in line
