Thank you! You would think it’s elementary but I had the hardest time figuring out how to tie the strap of the binoculars I bought from Amazon! This video solved that problem!

You are a valuable spokesperson for Vortex. You walked many of us through the process with clear instructions. Thank you. Much appreciation!

Thank you so much. After an hour of unsuccessful attempts I decided to look it up on KZbin. It then only took a couple of minutes and then success. ❤

Thanks, very helpful. Despite reading many descriptions nothing beats actually watching it being done! Visual direct one-on-one instruction, always the best way to learn.

Thank you very much. It still took me about an hour to get the job done but I am not very good at such things. Your video was very helpful.

Got a new pair of binoculars and could not figure this out from the badly written instructions and poor quality photos! This video reminded me how to do it. Thank you for the "aha" moment! :)

I still don't get what the sliding plastic rectangular things are for, though.

I think it's for tidying the loose end of the strap if you don't pass it back through the buckle.

@@pokeround Ah, that would make sense. In fact, I can't imagine what else it could be for now that you mention it. Thanks.

The small sliding rectangular thing is on the wrong part of the strap. The rectangular slide should be close to the strap lug.

Took 30 min to figure that it comes packed and must be removed from the strap. It’s like a belt buckle. I need a pint

This didn't help me as we have one side of the strap that has a 2nd short strap that goes to one of the lens caps.( and it has a quick release on it) the other main strap for the opposite side is the same length as the first strap. My problem is that the lens cap covers for both the eye end of the binocs and the far end of the binocs have their loops for the straps such that only one strap will hold covers. Yet it doesn't seem to be long enough to hold both. Does any one have an idea on this or another video I might watch that would solve this problem. It's so hard to describe in words and the manufacture couldn't help!!(Bushnell which has taken over this Weaver brand model 849825)

is it normal that with time the strap gets stripped, causing the binocular to fall down on the floor?? or maybe is a matter of strap's quality??!!

I have used two Opticron lanyards (40mm and 30mm) and they are both very long that I had to cut off the excessive bit. I guess this is intentional as some users may need the lanyard long, e.g. when carrying a camera at the same time. If it's too long you can cut it, but if it's too short you can't make it grow!

This never explains how the buckle should be positioned or threaded BEFORE you put the tag end through.

I agree that it should have shown that better because her hand is in the way and you can't see it. I had to rewind several times over that part before I could figure it out. LOL.

Thanks. But l blame the designers for inventing a strap that needs a youtube video.

This isn’t a very good video. The camera is facing the model and can’t see what she’s doing cause her fingers are in the way.

Nope! This is perfect video how to don't use a buckle. 😂 The buckle is a self tightening system, which works correctly the opposite way.

My aculon 30 8x25 does not have a quick release system. You can’t put the lanyard back through the safety back through with integrity once it is unthreaded. The only solution other than buying a different lanyard is to staple the lanyard together once it’s through. Video was a waste of time.
