Thanks for the help! I have a question. Can I put every type of camera on any tripod? Thank you!
@JeanPierreLaForest2 жыл бұрын
Good day Robeszkajka, while most cameras can be mounted on a tripod, there are a few exceptions that either do not have the thread in the bottom, or require an additional adapter (such as Go Pro cameras). If it does have a thread, chances are it is the standard 1/4-20 thread, although a few exceptions require the much larger 3/8 threads. Many tripods have screws that can fit both mount types.

Questions: 1) The pin and the spring in the adapter, I guess is for some cameras have a hole where the pin is inserted. 2) If your camera doesn't have the pin, is there a correct position where to put the pin when you screw the adapter to the camera (pointing to front, left, right or back position)? Thanks!

Unless you get your tripod used, in which case the attachment plate is pretty much guaranteed to be missing. I've seen at least half a dozen tripods in Goodwill and charity shops and they never had the attachment plates. I've found at least a half dozen in the trash and the only one that wasn't missing the plate was the one were it was a permanent part of the tripod, so they literally couldn't lose it. Even if you lend a complete tripod to someone, it's likely to come back without the attachment plate.
@ferretocious5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for a very simple to follow tutorial. You would think this would be such a simple thing to do but it isn't if you've never done it before. I just got a new tripod and I couldn't figure out how to get the camera on their other than twisting the camera. But that didn't work very well because there's that weird little thing sticking up next to it. Looked at the instructions and of course there's nothing in there other than how to set up the tripod!

The "mount" or "screw plate" that you illustrated in the end, is that a standard kind or what.? I've just got an old tripod where theres a similar head, but the "screw mount" I'd missing. Is it Standart and easy for me to find og do I need to find a guy with a 3d printer?
@JeanPierreLaForest2 жыл бұрын
Good day Tim, unfortunately there is no "one standard" mounting plate that fits all tripods. Even two tripods from the same manufacturer could have very different plates that are not compatible. Some brands may sell replacement parts if you contact them.

@JeanPierreLaForest8 жыл бұрын
Hi +Saai Ram most camera companies including Nikon/Canon/Sony/Samsung/Panasonic/Fuji/etc use the same 1/4"-20 thread standard for their point & shoot and DSLR cameras. Just make sure you have a hole in the bottom where you can screw the plate in, and you will be fine.
