Alright i'm pretty new to this. How do you zoom when doing this without using an eyepiece? I'm using a Nikon D3100. Maybe you already have a video on this? Really good video! :D

This is called Prime Focusing, where there is not zooming per se. The telescope will magnify the image on the sensor, but you don't have the magnification of Focal Length/Eyepiece size. I'm not sure what formula you use to calculate how much it magnifies. I kinda think it is like using a camera lens, for instance, my scope I built has a focal length of 750mm and I would say it is roughly 2x stronger than my 400mm lens. The difficulty with attaching a DSLR camera is getting it to focus properly since the sensor sits farther back than say your eyepiece. Hope this helps and feel free to check out my kinda long video of my telescope build.

Can I buy any T-Ring adapter and any M42 or do I need a certain one for a certain camera? In other words, are the things I need universal for any camera?

after changing the eyepiece to dslr, the scope will be lost it's balance. so how to overcome this problem? is it that after confirm the target in view of eyepiece, lock the clutches (RA and Dec clutches), change to dslr attachment. could you please possible make a video demo how would it be done?? tq

I believe that a camera doesn’t need an eyepiece since it gathers light and makes an image from it on its own unlike the human eye. We can only process light from a telescope if it’s redirected through an eyepiece. I could be wrong but I think that’s how it works.

Hi! I'm a newbie in astronomy, is it possible to hook up NIKON P1000 to telescope? You see that P1000 already has a builtin telescope, I wonder if I can buy some adapter to put telescope and P1000 together.

Depends, if for kids means a 60cm tube you are able to see jupiter and saturn. If it is a fixed 30cm tube it is for kids ;D
