In this video I will show you how to attach wires to the hook on a metal fish tape using a technique that staggers the wires. This creates a smaller head on the fish tape so the wires pull smoothly through the conduit.

@@RonKipperDatacomm1 I watched your video for conduit EMT bending. One of the challenge I faced and could not find anywhere a solution is, how to make sure i maintain proper plane while bending. I know how to bend or create offset but most of the time i go wrong because the plane is wrong, (like flipping 180 degree, turn upside down etc).. can u pls post a video for DIY about how to maintain plane, one trick i know is to use electrical wire and create a template to avoid confusion of what to bend and when etc but plane is still an issue for me. Anything you could do a video, would be a great help

I mention is several of the bending videos I sight down the conduit and use the bender handle as a reference to line up the two bends before making the second bend. I will add it to my list of videos to do though. Thanks for watching Ron

I don't know if I agree with this method. Stripping the insulation off the wire and splicing them together like this means the head loses flexibility. A spliced head is rigid as f***. Rather, instead of using a fishtape, I prefer string heads. Unless the string breaks, you are guaranteed not to lose any wires during the pull. If you do it right, the string functions like a horsecock and grips the wires so tightly they can't get away.

Why do the labels on the wire spools say _machine tool wire?_

Hello I am not sure might be a better question for a wire manufacturer. If I was to guess it relates to the different dies the manufacturer uses to draw done the wire to the size they are making. They start with a larger wire and draw it through several dies which makes the wire smaller each time they do that. hope that helps Ron

@@shreddder999 To add a bit. Machine tool wire refers to multi stranded cored wire, e.g..they take many strands of copper to 'build up' to the desired gauge. The concept itself refers to wiring that can be used inside of machine applications...e.g..Electronics, wiring cabinets, appliances, equipment, etc. You could kinda sorta make the case that stranded Cat6 cable would be a good example of its usage in datacom, but I don't know if the official 'standard' according to UL applies there since datacom is low voltage and you don't often have to worry about say..the thermal properties of the insulating jackets and the amount of heat due to resistance at any given current due to the current being so low.
