You hear so many sermons on being single and if you're like me, you're like heard it all before and brought the T-shirt blah blah. This by far is the best series I've heard in a long time about being single, learning how to date and getting married. It was extremely practical and covered all the bases. If people in that church under that teaching marry wrong it's on them!

Wow! What a sermon! Heard about Pst Conway this month via Laterras youtube channel titled "dear wifey". Am so glad to be lead to this teaching. We definitely have a dating problem. We date as the people of the world and then we ask God to bless it. When we do so it mostly ends in disaster. God help me to make you my best friend and be submitted to your will in this process IJMN.

1. Make Jesus your best friend. Master Mission Mate 2. Make sure you love your life and that you are pursuing Gods divine purpose. Your marriage must be purpose driven and not preference driven. 3. Make sure your own emotional hurts are healed. 4. Make sure you are under cover. Who has the right to speak into your life? 5. Never wait in denial, wait honestly. Fighting Hurting Knowing Changing Trusting 6. Guard your heart. 7. Get involved with a church family and godly singles. 8. Discover all you can about the person. Do you know your purpose? What church do they attend and what did they get out of the last service? Where do you serve? What’s their philosophy of dating? Whose their covering? Do they seek to control and silence people? Do they live and budget within their means? Based on their social media what are they passionate about?

The only question or disagreement I have is about the covering. Every woman does not have someone to walk them down the aisle. Many men didn't have the benefit of a Godly father in the home, yet have chosen to pursue a relationship with Christ. In these cases, God is our Father, in Christ Jesus. I appreciate the practicality and truth of this message, yet pray that those who don't have an "earthly covering" still know that Godly marriage is for them, in Christ Jesus.

Best friend? Or Lord? My bible says Lord. Best friend is defined by the world. Lord requires a disciple to study and learn what does it means to be under Lordship. Why did Jesus not end slavery, but use slavery to describe what it means to be under Lordship.

Jessa Dee Luna Amen! Jessa Dee Luna yes, praise Him for His perfect obedience to live the life we could never live and die the death we deserve. Submission and obedience are foreign words to this culture and their definition of friend, friendship, and love are greatly distorted. His friendship does not diminish his authority because when he calls us friends, he still remains our King. Jesus tells us to obey him; we never tell him to obey us. And our obedience doesn’t earn, but rather, proves our friendship with him. Though I don’t want this current culture to wrongly view Jesus as their “pal”, “chum”, “homeboy” my intention is also not to wrongly present His kingship and authority as that which would neglect his own exclusive companionship with us and the greatest affection we could ever enjoy. He is our cosmic ruler and greatest friend. He is the greatest friend to great sinners. 🙌 So much of our language has been watered down and distorted from its original intent. It was only my intent to rightly define to a distorted culture. Sorry if I added confusion. Thank you for your response and a chance for me to clarify.
