I didn't know the shaggy deer material was actually more expensive than leather. My missus has a few of Stella McCartney's bags, purses and coin wallets and loves them. I've just reported a fake bag on Ebay which at first sight looked ok. But it has no has no code inside, the cross over strap buckles are wrong and there are tags inside mentioning polyester that aren't inside my wife's Mini logo black cross over bodybag

Nancy Pinnington Hey Nancy, great question! Yes I have seen this before and I believe it to be fairly common with these bags, and designer pieces in general. The tarnishing of the metal can happen over time as it is exposed to the elements - so this can even happen on a new bag. I know Stella McCartney do look at repairing damaged bags, whether or not they’d repair/replace the chains I don’t know, but may be worth contacting them as a starting point.
