Maybe I'm too stupid, but I can't get my Shortcode working for showing images. I just want to create a shortcode with an image placeholder, so I can put the respective images into the Markdown files with {{< image-shortcode src="cover.jpg" >}}? What command I need to use in my shortcode? the examples from the Hugo Websites are not working.

why have i this error: assets\images\%!s(): The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. ??? i'm working with toml files using a [[list]] and i am passing the image like this: image = "angel.jpg". Every element on the list must to show diferents pictures. I can't understand where is the error?

Sweet thank you so much. One question. How would you put images in the markdown that reference a name in the front matter. I am looking to just grab a name from the front matter and maybe wrap it in a shortcode for processing like you have shown. The end result is a collection of images in the post I can move around within markdown inline. You showed the featured image which is editing the single template, and the shortcode feature to add on extra options outside of markdown, but accessing more images in your front matter is the question :D Love your teaching style.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! You can access frontmatter from a shortcode with .Page.Params. So, for example, this would get the featured_image from the frontmatter and retrieve it as a resource: resources.Get (printf "images/%s" $.Page.Params.featured_image)

I'm just afraid for start to use Hugo, because I don't know golang. Maybe I should learn golang basics first, and then Hugo documentation? I know basics of React.js, but don't want to use Gatsby/Next.js, because of bunch of javascript.

Hey, thanks so much! I felt the same way about Hugo when I first started. I didn't want to learn Golang just to use Hugo, but you don't have to. It helps to learn the basics of Go templating, as that's what it uses for the layout files, but that's about it. If you want to build a custom theme for Hugo, check out my video on that for a basic intro to Hugo templates.

Awesome video, especially to process the images inline with individuals posts. As someone who's not good at coding, this was very helpful. But it seems that there is no way to align images to center or right. They always seem to be on the left.
