How to automatically update stock levels in Microsoft Access

This is a Microsoft Access tutorial covering, how to automatically update stock levels, create an update query, create a macro, and assign a macro to a form control. The tutor starts off by creating an update query that uses formulae to change the stock level in a table. The tutor then creates a Macro and attaches it to the form control for stock quantity. Once the Stock level required is entered the update query runs removing the purchase stock quantity from the source table quantity. Update queries. Database stock levels. Hello, I am struggling with the email add on in access. I am building a stock inventory and once a certain stock amount is below the minimum quantity, I want it to send an email to inform someone to order new items. But Access always sends the email double and I don't know why, are you able to help me?

But as soon as in my table the stock quantity reaches a number which is lower then the minimum stock quantity, I want access to send a mail. Therefore, I added a "macro after update" in the table, stating that "For each record in" the table parts (which is the main table with all the information", where condition is stock quantity < minimum stock quantity --> send email

This is not good way to manage stock levels, its much better to add a table like ''StockMutations'' that tracks all mutations on the stock and add them all up to come up with the actual stock level.

@@ITsEasyTraining1st Im no youtuber, but think of it as a new table that has quantity, product, status. In which you store all mutations and track the status such as sold, received and then you have a query that adds them all up to calculate the stock level of each unique product. If you use a update query you can never backtrack if something is already reduced from stock or how that number came to be
