My favorite is when they say: “Just give me builds for one second!” It would be nice if there was a trade feature like the one in Adopt Me so people could actually trade rather than getting scammed by “drop first” lol

One problem with trading smelters is they can take out a steel mill which looks exactly the same as an industrial smelter.

I'm the kind of person that will help people who are new to the game by gaining build access, building on their island, but not scamming them because I'm not mean like that. Since they are new they usually either hesitate a little or not at all. Then I might friend them, and a week later when I see them again they got scammed because they thought that they could trust everyone and that everyone was as nice as me. :( Once, I was helping someone who was new to the game, and I helped them expand their island, make a farm, etc... Then like a month later or so they actually got better than me in the game because I kinda stopped playing but they played a lot and they gave me free vending machines and stuff. So that was pretty cool. :)

I have been scammed but I knew that I was getting scammed: this was in the early days of islands when there were no vendings .I wanted a smelter so I asked people and someone said they would. I gave them money(they picked it up of course) but then left right after they left, I felt mad but I knew it was coming

Tip: There are secret areas on the map that I would recommend to trade if you have to do a drop trade. Also I would recommend having a value list open as well, and also ask how many of an item someone will trade.

Sometime, people will use iron block as industrial smelter to scam other people. (They trade at the HUB's cave)

Needing to level up economy for vending is just making scams more common because not everyone can trade with vending, so people are able to scam more. Its just annoying.

Once someone asked me to give them 5 pumpkin seeds for a rage bp and instead of dropping pumpkin seeds, i dropped carrot seeds and as soon as i dropped the carrot seeds, they revoked me from their island so i knew they were a scammer

The scam that need to be fixed is the colors of cactus seeds and spinach seeds, people might make you think that your trading for cactus seeds but in reality your being tricked into thinking the spinach seeds are actual,y cactus seeds

Back when the spellbook was the newest weapon, I grinded and got 2 green and 1 blue page, I found someone who had a red page and we drop traded, we were close enough that we could see what the other dropped but couldn't pick it up. Didn't get scammed and got my page. Though don't do this if you don't know the exact value I was lucky that pages are worth the same though drop trading items that aren't virtually the exact same is a bad idea.

heres a tip for everyone: if you haven't join DV's and the Islands discord. There are some scammers but there are also people who can vouch for others. that way you know if they are legit or not.

I mean this is why I always use vending and if the person is under level 60 or 30 then I usually do chest trades but usually I just trade with my close friends but I’ve never given them build and anytime they give me build it’s just for chest trades or if I’m trading blocks to them like for example: I’m trading pine wood for stone. So they’ll probably just give me build so they place the stone and I mine it and them I place the wood and they mine that But I did get scammed using one of these scams but I didn’t rlly mind since I had doubles of that item: So I had teleported to him and I told him I was trading a iron totem and he said that he would offer a test totem,so I didn’t know that test totems were pretty rare and if it had been now I would’ve seen a big red flag ,so the thing is I didn’t know how test totems actually looked when they were in someone’s hand and he even had a few test totems so I trusted him so what he did was he took out a oak fence and because both the oak fence and test totem are both rectangular and the same size when in someone’s hand I thought he actually pulled out a test totem so I dropped my iron totem and he dropped his oak fence and once I realised it he had already left Jokes on him tho I had 5 more iron totems and I needed oak fences anyway lol

If someone were to drop you a smelter and they said you could keep it then just don't place it because if they were in fact trying to gain your trust and scam you, they were the ones who gave u a free smelter so you don't need to give it back.
