How to Avoid Getting Scammed When Buying a Used Boat

As I'm watching the end of this, I went to NADA Guides to see what current boats for sale in my area are going for vs the estimates on NADA. Boats in my area are asking about twice what the NADA has listed for average price. Is that due to the current 'Covid Tax' or should I be offering closer to that NADA number when making an offer?

@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon Thanks for the heads up. Ill probably wait another 2 years and wait for all the people who went out and bought a boat this year, but didn't do their research on maintenance/upkeep and the market will flood. I love this channel, keep it up!!

Is it normal to make a deposit to secure a boat used/new before a dealership services it for you to pick up?

@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon thanks! Just picked up my first used fishing boat today. Took it for a dip without the plug in trying to manage backing up the tralier, unloading the boat, and managing 3 other family members who have no experience loading and unloading a watercraft. I learned its best for them to just stay out of my way and others who are in the process of checking my safety list. Not to be rude, but its less painful, stressful, and my mind doesnt have to wonder and try to manage what everyone else is trying to do and help. Just have to get a tegular routine going on for myself and them so its clockwork. Tha k god everything is fine, just drained out about 5 gallons of water was all smh, lol.
