12 minutes later and I don't really feel any the wiser... 😢

Over the past 4 years I've gone from Brookes leather wide to Selle narrow. Each time a big improvement in comfort. By far the biggest change was going to the Selle Italia Sp-01 which has little absorption. Instead its design acts like leaf springs allowing the saddle to move as you ride rather than just absorbing the energy with foam. From almost permanent discomfort to zero discomfort in a matter of a couple of weeks, despite riding 90 km every day. I will never ride another saddle other than this. And it's not too expensive.

Anyone else think that the background music and monotone voices make this video really difficult to understand?

we need something concise and summarized. It's difficult to understand.

If you're comfortable you'll be faster. I had one saddle gave me crippling lower back pain, another one pain on my right upper leg and back side. After much trial and error I found one that works perfectly for me and did a 300km ride on it recently with zero issues. Aesthetics are irrelevant and comfort is everything when it comes to the saddle.

What was the saddle that he recommended for cyclists sitting asymmetrically?

He said a flatter saddle as it will train you to sit more symmetrically

I think you could spend a couple of thousand dollars trying all kinds of different saddles, and spend an awful lot of time changing cranks end adjusting saddle height. And at the end of the day, even under the best conditions, you will occasionally experience PITA. Not to discount this terrific video, but personally I just accepted this as part of the cost of doing business. If you ride 50-100 miles perched atop a slightly padded metal pole, you're just asking for it.

So basically its a crap shot. Buy it - try it and maybe you'll get lucky. I always like the advice of try it first before you buy it. The problem I don't know any store that carries the range of saddles out there that will let you try them first for a few weeks to see if its the one. Expert, hummmmmmm.

You all say use a cutout saddle but they hurt like hell has cost me a fortune the only saddle that works for me is the Arione 00 after so many years finally don’t even think about saddles anymore

Then you one in 10,000... Get one without a cutout then....

Just buy an SLR boost and be done with it. best saddle of all time.

Did that. Improved greatly over the previous one but I still have problems with it.

Also did that. In my case when I set it too low I start getting pain in my left knee. So I increase very gradually from there until no more knee pain. But in my case this means some groin discomfort. I have the narrow (130mm?) SLR boost ar the moment. Have tried specialized power, all fizik and some noseless ones before with worse results (literally not being able to ride more than 2 hours, with moderate-high discomfort starting on the first climb). In the narrow SLR I feel my sit bones are hanging from the sides which is my main point of discomfort. But I have tried the power and other saddles in 145 mm (not the SLR) and in those I feel that the saddle digs on my lower glute/upper hamstring pretty bad, which is a worse feeling than the "hanging from the sides" one. Tried some SMP in the past too which did not quite work, but on a recent research I found that I might have tried the wrong (too minimal /racy) model.
