There's always going to be members that are vying for leadership. This brings in the drama of pitting member against member. I've always been leery of members seeking an office. They generally have a personal agenda. I prefer a leader who was coaxed by the membership to lead. The members generally know who the best officers are, those that don't really benefit from their position. Back in the day, you settled your differences one on one, out in the back yard. You threw a few punches, gave each other a hug, no hard feelings and you each grabbed a beer. You acted like men, not drama queens.
