I know slumps happen in real life, but when it happens at the same time for 5 seasons like clockwork, it really takes you out of the game.

I never save and reload big games if i lose but the other day for some reason my 2 cb’s were switched with my 2 midfielders and in 5mins before i realized in between highlights they score 2 tying it up. Its 2-2 and with away goals im fkd so i load the save. Long story short i had to load the save 13 times or so til i finally BARELY won. Before this i was winning 4-0 3-0 every game so yea somethings weird

Went from beating city 4-1 to losing 2-1 to a forest side that hasn’t won in 8 games and has an interim manager… you just can’t make this game up

Distribute playing time more evenly among the squad by substituting players either before the 45-minute mark or introducing substitutes at half-time in less critical matches. Utilize all available substitutions over the span of ten weeks, with two in October, four in November, and another four in December. This proactive approach addresses the reasons why Premier League teams often struggle in the December month. While utilizing substitutions may lead to some drawn matches in winnable scenarios, it ensures that we don't forfeit all three points in some crucial December matches. This approach enhances the likelihood of securing at least 3 points from matches targeted for a draw. Moreover, it positively contributes to player dynamics and overall fitness levels.

I had faced this issue in the second season of my Napoli save. I had led Napoli to a Serie A win the previous season (2022-23), just like irl, but in mid-season of 2023-24 my team cohesion and club atmosphere went abysmal, which idk why... managerial support went downwards, and the players started playing so bad that Napoli went from a title fight to finishing 5th in Serie A in the second season... And since I couldn't qualify for UCL, coupled with players losing confidence in me, I was ultimately sacked after just two seasons at the club, despite winning the double (league and cup) the previous season

I had some success with levekusen winning the europa league for last 2-3months of the season by looking at the rest section in training and just select all the high injury risk players to 3 day rest

Could you please do a video on player personality types? they seem to make a huge difference, to the point I'm now really prioritising those players with model citizen or perfectionist; they seem to train much better and develop more reliably.

I was thinking of doing a video of what to look out for when signing a player on my channel. I think the two personality types you have mentioned are huge plus I find determined, professional and ambitious players tend to do better aswell.

@@Ant_FM ambition also makes them demand more money, and want bigger clubs. You don't want below 10 ambition but ideally not much more either, well that's my aim anyway.

@@davidrichards613 There is that side of it mate. I suppose having a highly ambitious player depends what club you are at to how well it makes them play. If you are at a top club it can only be a good thing if they are highly ambitious.

I have the problem of always having a player get mad about his playing time during the congested months. They still meet their “agreed playing time” and I play them as often as they’re fit. It’s miserable getting the “Stevens is jaded and could use a rest” and “Stevens feels he should be playing more and wants to talk to you” at the same time over and over. Any suggestions for that?

Side note* I hope this is something that gets addressed for FM24 because I feel like I’m real life it would be understood by players that if we’ve got 5 matches in 13 days then you’re gonna have to be rotated out so you don’t collapse. Same with gettin subbed out of friendlies. It shouldn’t be hurting players feelings to get the whole squad rotated at halftime of a match against some semi-pro local club.

Do you actually talk to them about being rested first? Sometimes this smooths over the issue and let's you give them the necessary rest while avoiding a tantrum over not playing.

I enjoyed starting low league and then signing as Torino manager and making them a top European team in 3 seasons whilst buying almost only south american and italian players. Just random stuff like this doesnt bore me

I played Scunthorpe until like 2035 got promoted evry season to the prem but was never contending for title. It was a great challenge

Game just gets buggy, save before match and load it till you score a goal (not from set pieces), no matter the score it cold be 1-5. Tadam, that's all

What if the opponent already knows your tactics and act accordingly to counter them? Doesn't that also contribute to the mid season slump?

Slumping happens because many people’s unrealistic over the top “intensity” tactics. Or, because they don’t train their teams properly.
