I have played 4 games of 40k (my space marines vs my buddy's Tyranids). I have lost all 4 extremely badly, being tabled around turn 2-3. One game i didnt actually kill any of his units. But I had fun because I turned each moment into a narrative thing. Each game was like a tragic, desperate last stand. Perhaps our division was just trying to buy time for a tech to activate a shield generator etc.
