When we went to Prague, i wanted our last day to be a make Janek angry tourist trap day, buy some ham, get some trdlelnik, go to a mini-mart and buy a keychain, take a selfie by the astronomical clock and ride the elevator thing, maybe also get some money exchanged by a scammer and do it all on a Lime scooter. Unfortunately we got Covid and weren't able to go out for the rest of our vacation, but i think it would be super funny.

Friendly criticism 😊 His episodes started to be repetitive due to his obsession about Tredelnik, i think. I think that there are a lot of topics to cover still such as extremely dirty metro elevators, kid friendly places, barrier free places etc. (He needs to have kid to realize these topics maybe😅)
@kevwwong
@kevwwong Ай бұрын
I think many KZbinrs like to have a "callback" joke that gives the viewer a sense of comfort. The tredelnik appears to be Janek's. But I do agree with you - it's way too easy to dunk on the tredelnik so I think it may be time to retire it for a while or use it to segue to something else.

We just visited Prague last week, and I kept in mind the advice from Honest guides, even coming down from the Prague castle I took a quick pic of the Vegan restaurant for my vegan friends! We were honestly amazed at the amount of tredelnik places here but had amazing Czech food at the secret place next to Tyr Cathedral and a wonderful breakfast at Mondieu, just 2 minutes away from a self serve laundry/wine bar, both places very friendly! Honestly, if I see the same shop/product/cafe/food on every street corner then that’s a tourist trap. We have been going to Prague since 2006 and our visit this year was the last for us. The sheer amount of Thai massage/sweet/duck/cake/cannabis shops has put us off. Also noticed far more graffiti 😢 than before. We absolutely love Prague, the people and the food but will give it a miss for a few years in the hope that it improves. I will still visit via your channel and thanks for all the hard work ❤️

I went to Pizza Nuova when I was in Prague and it was one of the best I had in Europe. But I didn't know they had an "all you can eat" option! I actually chose them because they have a nice kid's corner and my toddler loved it. Speaking of saving money and avoiding tourist traps, last year we went to the wine bar Na skleničku that you recommended. Its the one that has the "bottomless wine glass" - all you can drink wine (you can choose from 6 different wines) for 20 euros. Its not unusual to pay 10 euros for one glass or wine at a restaurant in Canada, where I am from. Lets just say that four hours later we were sitting at the bar talking to a gentleman from Poland, a local university student and the bartender- and we were all sharing photos of our cats on our phones. Best travel tip ever!

If its with old theatres, being able to drink alcohol, eat food, different snacks and popcorn, maybe a pause in the middle of the movie for toilet break. Who knows what you will get into? Was in Manchester and went to the movies, they had 7 commericals for alcohol before the movie started. No wonder english people are alcoholics. In germany they got strange kind of popcorn, that we dont have here in Sweden. Always something different.

I love all the peaceful courtardy/terracy places there. We do get them elsewhere of course, just not the cities I've lived in (plus a peaceful atmosphere wouldn't be enough customers to cover overheads they need tens of tables packed in close full all day or will go bust). Also yeah the combined maths from exchanges and other things checks out well: you have saved tourists easly over 100m and taken it out of the hands of scammers and a similar amount has instead gone into good businesses that wouldn't have otherwise. That's the low estimate.

In my city, Antwerp, you will find the orange Donkey bikes everywhere. Their slogan is "bike like a local" but they charge €5 for a ride, while the locals use the red city bikes at €55 for a year. I guess tourists don't want to use the bikes that have to be put back into designated stations (that you find everywhere) but rather use the expensive tourist traps that they can leave laying around in inconvenient places.
