(How To) Baby Trend Car Seat Installation

While I come to terms with my daughter's arrival in a few weeks, the race is on to finish all that needs to be done to prepare for her arrival. Her grandmother bought us the Baby Trend Expedition Premiere Jogger Travel System from Babies R Us. In this dad vlog I install the car seat using the Flex-Loc system in the backseat of my 2013 Kia Soul.

When you got to the part where you said you didn't know how we just silently looked at each other like "what now?" You saved the day. Our daughter is arriving via C-Section. helping my wife give birth was easier than installing this. . set it to max height setting on the grey adjustable section, jam your knee in the fing thing on top of that grey section (there's a groove for your knee) putting all your weight on it and pull on the strap with all your might, no holding back.

I’m preggo and due in 3 weeks. We have the same car seat and the instructions were so ambiguous I thought I must be stupid because I couldn’t figure it out. Also it’s 30 degrees here at the warmest part of the day so my fiancé and I were outside shivering trying to read the instructions and that didn’t help. So hey, thank you so much for sharing this 💜

UPDATE: To tighten the base you have to raise the base to level 2 and it becomes REAL easy to tighten with little effort.

Hey Matt you missed out one step. You need to put the car seat in base first to check if the base is at the right level. The car seat will have a spirit level guide on the side, well most do anyway.

The front moves to make sure if you get hit hard the car seat gives so the seat absorbs the impact instead of the impact going to the child. We had a car pull in front of us at 45 mph an we couldn’t stop it destroyed the car an me an my wife were in bad shape an I was in the back seat with my son, an my son had little burns from the seat belt that was it. It needs to be able to move at the front always remember that an if u latched the car seat in to the booster correctly then that baby isn’t going anywhere. An also please make sure your straight are in the right position on your child cause it can break their ribs if you have them to low an it also can throw them out if you have them place d wrong

Is the car seat supposed to wiggle when snapped into the base? The base is secure and doesn’t wiggle in the car but when we attach the car seat it wiggles is this normal?

I installed my baby niece's carseat base as well--it was this one exactly. MY problem with this base is...why does it still lift upwards from the front? You get into a car accident, the carseat--obviously will go flying toward the backrest of the car. What is the point of having a base that just flips itself upward instead of staying locked in place?

@gstrebing2333 apparently, that's how it's supposed to be. I always had her behind my passenger seat so what I ended up doing was just pushing the back rest of the passenger seat down enough where it would essentially lock the car seat in place from the top to keep her car seat from going forward.
