I am lost on backing up Library's of FCPX, I have several maybe a few Dozen as I create new Libraries for various types of Productions. I am wanting top update to the latest 11.0 from my 10.6.8 and wondered if I would have to backup every Library on every hard drive I have them on ?

I’m new, updated for first time and totally freaked out when that update library popped up and my project was missing. It actually updated fine but I lost all my custom transitions etc.😢

Once I make a final product and export it, I rarely need to go back to to the library for it, fact I often delete the library copy especially if it had rendered files that had significant size. so I'm not worried about that but I'm going to watch your video about how to go back to the previous version in case there are problems, I updated before checking anything about it. PS I do have a recent Time Machine back up---I suppose I trash the new version and import the old version from the back up?

Actually with APFS-formatted drives (all main disks on all Macs you can run modern FCPX on), duplicates don't take any extra space on the drive. Only changes from the original will.
