How to balance a fan blade without a stroboscope

Have you ever looked into seeing if there are any strobeoscope apps that use a cell phone flashlight? I know there are tachometer apps that work in a similar way and they are actually fairly decent!

I don’t know if the flash on a phone is designed to flash on and off that fast.

Does the blade spin freely? If they dont then it might need oil. I would still oil it if the bearings are free. Get some 3 in 1 blue can oil or zoom spout. You can find wheel bearing grease at Walmart for cheap. The grease will go into the gearbox once you clean it. If the motor is really hot then that’s normal with that fan. They have shaped pole motors which run very hot since they aren’t super efficient. The one thing you can count on is then being very reliable though.
