Just used your method and it did the trick. I also let some oil run down the shaft into the motor and it's as smooth as butter now.

I've had to do the same thing with a little oil, else the fan squeals intermittently.

Oh man Ty, just got a new standing fan for kids n after couple months (I wasn’t paying attention) I noticed today how bad it’s wobbling. Irritated cause it’s new yet knowing not anything special either, still shouldn’t be wobbling like this. I’ll definitely try this out cause annoying to me as others in family don’t care 😂 appreciate the advice 👍🏻🤘

Thank you so much! You helped my imagination so much, that I have used another type of counterbalance, but on the same principle as yours. Thank you for teaching the mechanics! :D

Excellent idea..that was great ! Can this pin method also fix the Wall fan blade knocking sound while rotating?
@fortheloveofvideo63063 жыл бұрын
If the knocking sound is caused by movement in the fan due to not being balanced then it probably could help. Depending on fan design you may need to use a different weight to balance the fan, just depends on what there is to attach the weight too.

I bought two lasko pedestal fans and the both wobble badly brand new out if the box, which causes a lot if noise also. Horrible products. Wish there was a way to fix them.

My pedestal fan was making a terrible noise. I took the cover off and tightened the blade cover. This stopped the blades from wobbling. However, the fan blades are hitting the rear fan cover which is also wobbly and not flush with the mount. How can I remedy this? Please help!
@fortheloveofvideo63063 жыл бұрын
First thing I would check is to make sure the rear cover is seated properly. Have a look side on and see if the rear cage is even and flush with the rear plastic cover of the fan motor. Its possible it is missing the part that secures the rear fan cage against the motor cover, or the part is loose and needs tightening. Its usually a piece of round threaded plastic that screws on. Hope that helps!

XΞИOΛLIΞИ 0 seconds ago Mine was making a high pitched noise too and didnt work properly anymore, i opened it up and cleaned and oiled it, i balanced the blades by putting a small piece of strong tape on the backside of one of the blades

Overtime as the fan runs the centrifugal force is going to push the weight further out

You could’ve snipped a tiny little bit of material off of the end of that cotter pin if you wanted it perfect.

buy a new one... most portable clip fans cost around 3-4$ on lazada :P
@JALA578 Жыл бұрын
If you don't fix it the bearings/bushings will wear out a lot sooner until it doesn't run anymore or wrecks itself.

My pencil fan shakes and wobbles a little bit only on start up but after about like a minute or so running it runs with nothing even happened One time I had an old pedestal fan which upon start up it’s sucks so much that fell over in and jam with the blades and motor so I had to takeoff the blade cover and unplug the fan instantly so this is me when I happened looks like this Fan is done for
