Can confirm Weebill S handles my GH5S with smallrig L-Bracket cage and the new 10-25mm f/1.7. I Can achieve perfect balance with this setup so motors are not working hard. Also the 50-200mm f/2.8-4 will also balance almost perfectly at mid way through zoom range. Tilt motor will need boost in motor strength though to handle the differences when zooming.

@JakeSloan4 жыл бұрын
You do have options to program the trigger on the weebill s a little bit but I'm not sure it would do exactly what you want it should default back to pan follow which means you would have to keep the camera pointed at the subject through some trial and error.
@nunmpedro5 жыл бұрын
But if the auto calibration is adjusted to the well-balanced gimbal, if we change the weight arrangement we are likely to have weak motor strength for the new arrangement, and we should do a new auto calibration, right? Because i get some shaky footage after remove the ND filter without changing the settings of the gimbal.
@JakeSloan5 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you make any big changes to the weight or notice some shakiness then doing another auto calibration should help get rid of it!

Great video Jake! I've got a question though. When I try the "auto tune" feature on my Weebill S it appears to go through the process just fine. However, once the check mark appears and it says "ok" it starts to vibrate and make a very loud grinding noise while starting to tilt to the right. Does yours do this? I have my camera absolutely PERFECT balance so I know that's not my issue. (it is an approved camera and lens as well) Thanks!

I got the Weebill S after returning the Ronin SC... I might prefer how the Ronin feels in the hand, so the jury is still out as to which one I'll settle on. In your comparison between the two, the Weebill definitely seems more stable when walking... Have you found that to be the case?
@JakeSloan4 жыл бұрын
I have found the Weebill S to be far better at stabilization by far.
@bixgomez28394 жыл бұрын
Jake Sloan that’s good to hear... it certainly seems that way from your footage. Do you think the payload capacity has something to do with that, with regard to the GH5?
@lebavu82605 жыл бұрын
So if I understood correctly, let’s say I like to swap prime lens a lot but don’t want to rebalance it with every swap, then I can go to menu and auto tune after each swap and that should be ok without needing to rebalance? Does it work if I just leave it on auto or do I have to hit auto to recalibrate with each lens swap? Thx!
@JakeSloan5 жыл бұрын
If the lenses are close to the same weight I wouldn't worry about recalibrating every time unless you notice the footage is shaky. If the lenses are drastically different then I would either recalibrate or maybe just re balance the tilt motor.

There is a way to adjust the roll axis in the menu on the gimbal and you can also do a calibration using the app to make sure it is properly calibrated. I would adjust the roll angle in the on gimbal menu first.

@JakeSloan5 жыл бұрын
Man both are pretty good. While I haven’t had the Weebill S for a long time yet (multiple months) I can say it’s handled everything I’ve used it for with ease. That Includes going inside a glacier ice cave (it got dripped on a fair bit) walking through snow and rain. Shooting several conferences some interviews and lots of videos for KZbin and it’s going strong. My biggest disappointment so far is the app is much more difficult than the DJI app to get around (it’s not super intuitive) and the motion timelapse doesn’t work well at all. Supposedly they issued new firmware today to fix that but I haven’t had the chance to test it yet. If I had to choose today I’d probably go with the Weebill S but I also didn’t experience the problems some people did with the lab. It had frustrations for sure but mine worked well until I passed it on to the next user.

@@JakeSloan im not exactly sure what happened, but I guess the stand for the lens wasnt up all the way on the lens. So when I took everything down to rebalance it again and start from square 1, I tightened that up to the lense and now its absolutely flawless. even with the motor strength on high. if I loosen that lens stand, it does the shake and bake again. I bought my Weebill S several months ago but am just now trying to figure it out. Your videos are the best I've seen. My question is, can you use a relatively "light" camera with this gimbal like my Sony RX100 m7? I only see people with much heavier gear. I have a Sony A7iii, but I was hoping I could also use this with a lighter camera as well. Thanks for the great videos.

@@JakeSloan I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to give that a try. I was getting frustrated with my RX100 because I just couldn't get it balanced. But I was a complete newbie at gimbals of any type. Before I try it again, I'll use my A7iii to make sure I'm doing everything right. Then, I can go back with the lighter camera. Thanks for the suggestion.

Love the new intro 👍🏼 but could have been a bit longer 😅
@JakeSloan5 жыл бұрын
Rofl everything tells me make the intro shorter and here you are asking for a longer intro... how long would be ideal in your opinion?
@ProjectReed5 жыл бұрын
Jake Sloan 😂 lol ! the current intro was bit fast or may be the music ended abruptly 😅 I don’t know but slowing it down would make it perfect 😜

I’m going to start cruise vlogging soon. Can you recommend a setup as in a mic and etc. I will be filming either my wife or she will film me. I have a Sony A9 with a Tamron 17-28 and 28-75. I’m waiting on Tamron to release their primes so I’m going to get the 35mm. What do yo like to vlog with a prime or zoom lens.
@JakeSloan5 жыл бұрын
I almost always shoot with a zoom lens. The Tamron 17-28 is my go to at the moment for almost everything I shoot on this channel. It's a great pairing with the A9. If you have watched the last few videos on my channel the mic setup I am using (in this video) is the rode wireless go and lav mic. when I need an on camera mic I use the Deity D3 pro but lately I have really enjoyed the wireless unit with a lav hidden under my jacket for the out and about stuff. I would start with the wireless go and if you can add a lav mic (deity makes a great one for 50.00 or Rode makes their Lav go mic as well which is also great. Watch this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqm5p6hna86fr6c if you want to see more detailed thoughts on it. If you have more questions let me know or wait and ask them on tomorrows live stream if you like as well!

Double check your balance and then manually turn down the motor strength a little bit

spend some time working each axis slowly to make sure you get it right don't move on until the first axis is good

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about regarding your accessories. The attached slide to the camara does not look like the one that I received with my Weebill S. The balancing is super straight forward if people already understands the 3 red locks and when to lock and unlock them. Sorry, this video only confused me. Yes, I have done this before and am only looking for a refresher since I have not used this unit in awhile.
