Your mod for the ballast spreader is what I've been looking for as I saw my ballast goes all way past the confines of the cork roadbed and I don't want that , I want it to have a neater look & your solution is elegantly simple. thank you. EDIT; I model in 2 rail O scale rapid transit- subway and commuter.

I think this is the best way to ballast EZ track it looks professional just as you use cork roadbed. depending on the moisture of your layout the cork can warp, with EZ track if you hot glue the sides at the bottom you don't have to worry about the tracks shifting. been doing a lot of research this is the best way for EZ track GREAT JOB!

Thanks, good technique! Is there a way to use tape instead of glue?

fine ballast works perfect!

Thanks for posting your technique. I'll bet this would work well with my Kato N scale Unitrack, too. Awesome! I'll bet you could also use just your glue idea and a spoon for a spreader.

@@eXtremeFX2010 Right. And it's a much appreciated suggestion, too. I really like the idea of applying the glue on the slope of the roadbed first. :-)

Where did you buy that ballast spreader?

Why do you need to use fine ballast vs say medium? I would never use coarse for ballast on ho scale, but just curious. Is medium that much worse?

Very nice. What do you use to cover your table? It looks good. Green felt?

What did you do on the turnouts how did you blast it. Did you skip the middle of it and just do the part that is open

It is to late now but the main reason I wouldn’t use the bed is that in a couple of years the foam/ plastic starts to corrode away renering the track useless

Hey Harrison, check this out... @SMTMainline.. I thought you might like to see how this guy did his .. much easier than how you do it... I love this Ballaster and the side parts modification seems like it makes it so much easier from the looks of it..
