Whenever you capture a village/castle, a menu will appear and you will be able to set the recruitment setting for that village/castle; there's No Recruit, Paid Recruit, and Free Recruit options. In your case, you probably chose the 'Free Recruit' option, choosing this option will make the Automatic Soldier Recruitment free and without cost, however you can ONLY transfer troops INTO the village, and not out of it. So, unfortunately, your troops are stuck there forever unless the village gets attacked and captured by your enemies.

If you don't want to lose respect, you can just release them, or sell them. Though respect doesn't really matter in the game, you can just hire troops the normal way - through the "Recruit Troops" button. In all of my Steel And Flesh 2 videos, my respect is always zero.

I took over south England and most of France. But then England called all their lords and attacked us. I had over 700 troops on myself and 800 on my main town and a good amount of lords but we got destroyed because England grew too strong they had taken over norway as well so over 20 to 30 lords attacked us and destroyed us.

Try hire some companion and plus his tatic skill to 100, if the enemy outnumber u then when in battle ur army will spaw 480 and the enemy is 120, easy to defend they will get shot by rain of arrow before they can get to you troops, i defeat a 3k+ troop of polan with only 1k troops defend with that tatic

Do you think hunting or smithing are worth it? You have to make a camp which means you can get attacked and with how long it takes to kill anything or smith a weapon you already lost the money you will get from selling it because your army would have eaten so much that you have to buy more food with the money you make.

Smithing is worthless, because there's a bug that causes weapon crafting times to be extremely long even if you have blacksmithing at 100. Hunting/Fishing is a useful way to start earning profit early but is wasted as you can just start the game as a Blacksmith, sell all of the swords and materials you start with, and use the money to start your own business.

Like one is an Engineer, one is a Scout, etc. But that is pretty much overshadowed by the player themselves since, you can easily take all essential skills, and with high enough level, you can take all roles. Reason why I don't talk about the heroes too much, the only useful thing they serve is pretty much just undying soldiers in your army.

You cannot increase lord troops, it's always at a set amount, normal castle lords will always take somewhere between 50 to 100, and large castle lords can take 100 to 200 troops. It's always somewhere between those numbers, sometimes slightly more.

Yes, armor/weapon with 0 durability still provides defense/deals damage, but at a very reduced rate. Technically yes, as the condition of the pieces determine their selling prices. Yes, there are heroes in the game, you can find them in the town taverns, where you can walk around in the tavern and talk to people. You can also go around talking to people from tavern to tavern to track down where the heroes are. There are 10 of them in total.

Also is there a way to tell who is a hero by looking at them I walked through 15 taverns talking to everyone and still no heros. @@ricktin1025 some of the people in the tavern will actually tell you where they are, if they say something like "I think I saw them in [insert castle name]" then go there and ask around the people once more. If they say something like "I saw [hero] here somewhere", then keep looking around the tavern and keep talking to everyone. Do remember that the tavern has a 2nd floor and there are NPCs there as well.

Nothing, roleplay I guess, or earn up money. 14 Castles is the optimal Empire size that you can have without other factions declaring war on you if your empire is too big. You can continue earning up money without having to worry about factions declaring war, until you're ready to expand your territory.

I wanted to become the king of Sultanate of Rum but Byzantine empire and khawarezmian empire vanished Sultanate of Rum so I went to India and conquered all of Delhi sultanate and than Indian dynasties,after getting the control of whole India,I invaded Khawarzmian empire and than after conquering it I kicked Byzantine empire out of Anatolia(modern day turkey) then I waged war on Ayyubid empire and conquered all of there castles and towns in Asia,after that I conquered Constantinople and 10 other towns and castles in Europe after that Mongol empire waged war on me and they kept invading my empire until I conquered Karakoram,Turpan,Hami,Hotan and few other castles of Mongol empire,England waged war on me too and they were pretty big,they had like 60-70 possessions so I conquered whole of (modern day)England and Ireland,right now I have like 129 possessions and I am in war with Ayyubids they took Mamure from me because I didn’t care,I have no mood of fighting with them, while I was expanding in Europe Ayyubids took Mamure and Jin dynasty took 3-5 castles from but I don’t want to fight them(I know I can destroy them in just half an hour)Jin dynasty(50+ possessions) Ayyubid(50+ possessions) Byzantine empire( 50+ possessions) England(50+ possessions) I am not attacking them because Ayyubids will conquer Konya and I can split my army into 2 while invading,Konya is my favourite city.

This is absolutly wrong for very difficult. You get attacked from basicly the whole country, as soon as, you take one singel castel from them. The only way to actually conquer anything here is to gain a lot if money first though cowfarms and get all companions, to level there plunder ability and get as much money as possible, like 2 million or something, then get the best siege equipment and attack small countrys first and build up your army. The money is also to make peace with other countrys if neccecary, because it will cost about 100000 gold to make peace. Iam not talking about the basics you talked about, like how to attack or defend or how to defend your castels or anything. The AI is just way more aggressive on very hard. If you use that difficulty from the very beginning of your game.

The King's Guide is just fine for any difficulty - it's an additional tips and tricks for the game, it is supposed to be a part 2 of the first Game Guide I made - which covered the basics such as starting businesses, earning gold, and building up a sizable army.

If you attack a kingdom, which is relativly big, it will instantly try to take back what you gained, with like 1000 soldiers, If it is a villiage or a castel it does not matter. And the advisor even says that iam expanding slow because i almost instantly lose every castel i gained, from the faction, if they attack with over 1000 soldiers. I guess the AI is just way more aggressive to the player on very hard. Even if you do not attack them, if you refuse to get a Tribute imposed, you will still get attacked and that happens often. Obviously that is why you can only attack small factions early on then and have to make peace with some factions to not get overhelmed. It is not even possible to attack castel after castel because of that. XD

@@ottovonbismarck6600 not entirely true, you can divert a lot of their attention away from you by simply initiating a false siege on one of their castles. Also, I don't understand why these things are a problem for you as it's relatively easy to make gold and take advantage on a lot of things in the game. AI behavior is the same across all difficulties, so even in Baby Mode, they'll pile all their soldiers on you when they decide to siege your castle. Remember: The AI ONLY initiates sieges or attacks your village when they come across your possessions while out wandering. So that's why in this guide, I talked about Empire Security, having a lot of soldiers in a castle will prevent your enemies from initiating a siege on it.

Still, even if they do siege your castles, there's a lot of things that you can do as a workaround, such as capturing another castle while they're busy sieging yours, and defending your castle solo - meet and fight them one by one before they pile up as a huge army.

@@ismollcheeken Even if i fight them on by on with my army. i just get worn down at some point, mantaining a huge army takes huge amounts of food as well, so i can not stand on the same spot the entire time as well. Food goes bad relativly fast as well. Also they sometimes group togheter, while going to my castel. Also you get more damage and deal less damage on very hard. The false siege thing seems to not work for me. The AI does Mark Castels they siege on the map. If i try to make a false siege they just divert there soldiers to defend and attack at the same time. You can not make money easy on very hard because you get like just like 80% less loot and have to level up plundering. That is why you will need cowfarms early on. You also start at Level 1 with 5000 Gold, weapon restrictions and need food for your army and have to care about desertations, though low fighting spirit. Also you can only buy troops at your level. Basicly only level 1 troops at the start. You also can only free retreat at squad size 15 and not 50 like on Baby mode. The only option early on are cow farms or tournaments or just hunting and fishing. That takes time drains your fighting spirit, which should be at 0 by then. There you have to raise it up again, which also takes time. By the time you have an actuall army to take a castel, some AI will have like 50 castels and are like superpowers, which will annoy you. By that its almost impossible to take anything, even if you fake castel sieging, because they can defend and attack at the same time. When you actually got a got army of elite units, then you get only actually enough stuff after battel, if your plunder skill is high enough, which can be done by using companions. You have to watch out for a lot more on very hard, which make a huge differenz and gives certain AI's time to grow very big. Also food becomes a very big problem once you have like 500 elite units. They burn calories like crazy. You will need to buy food all the time or put your men somewhere else or use the food from cowfarms. But i have found out that you can actually buy relation with money, like you can buy peace, which makes the game actually to easy even on very hard, when you got like 5 million Gold after a lot of fighting. Just try very hard mode and see for yourself, if you do not believe me. Baby mode is realy just Baby Mode. The differenz is actually bigger than i expected my self. But as said befor as long as you got enough money, have at least 500 elite units and enough food to mentain them, then you have basicly won, because you can even controll the AI by using Money.

If you join a different faction, you need to actually work for Crown, there are three stages: 1. Lord 2. Warlord 3. King The moment you join a different faction, you automatically become a Lord of that faction, you need to build up Fame and Respect to get the 'Support Of Other Lords' to become a Warlord, once you're a Warlord, your character will now get a Star above its head, and you will be able to command a small percentage of your faction's army. In order to become King of the faction, you need to work in the same fashion, maintain your Fame and Respect, then get more 'Support Of Other Lords', once you have enough, you can become the King of that faction.
