i felt youth and life itself as sister songs (the official videos might have had an effect on it). while life itself is about a chronic unemployed person, the first verse starting with "daddy was dumb, said that i´d be someone special " also makes me think of an absent yet loving father added to the mix. Then, when youth starts, with a similar feel yet slightly slower and sadder, he start "Boy, when i left you you were young" making me think not that the narrator of youth doesnt believe in his words, but that he wishes knowing its hard to get. This makes me think both songs are connected, the child and the father´s idea of the child.

I loved this album. I have a friend who ONLY listens to rap music, but he was jamming out when it played it in his car. Since he doesn't really listen to them, he described them as alternative r&b with hip hop instrumentals, and I totally agree! Favorite tracks: Pork Soda, Agnes, and Season 2 episode 3.
