Okay, I’m curious, so how to do speed up the transition from conscious skill to unconscious skill? Great stuff by the way.

Happy you asked. Keep in mind, like anything else there is some detail that needs to be applied to get the best results, and it’ll take work just like anything else. No magic here. That said, here’s the general idea: I think of it as 3-for-1 repetitions. Requires intention, and visualization. You pick one thing you’re trying to “ingrain” into your subconscious. An example would be - throwing a right straight with great form, but your current weakness is that you tend to telegraph the punch and don’t usually get full extension. When practicing your right straight, let’s say you’re doing a round with your padholder and you’re putting in extra work with that punch…or perhaps a bag round where you are drilling the punch. You 1) visualize yourself throwing the perfect punch (first “rep”). This is great because your subconscious can’t tell the difference between real and imagined “feedback” so you’re able to convince your subconscious that you landed 1 perfect punch. As a result the “feeling” of throwing a perfect punch is ingrained subconsciously, and a feeling that it is “like you” to throw a perfect punch is ingrained into your self-image. The result, you’re more likely to repeat a perfect punch in the future because it’s “like you” to do that. 2) throw the punch, with focus and intention, attempting to land with perfect form. If you threw a great punch, once again success is ingrained into your subconscious/self image and it’s more likely to repeat. If you didn’t throw a perfect punch, but it was still good, you momentarily think about something that felt good about the punch while simultaneously thinking about what you NEED TO DO to throw the perfect punch. It’s important on this step that you focus on what you need for success, rather than focusing on what you did incorrectly. If your punch was total crap, be a goldfish and throw it out of your memory. Don’t reinforce what it feels like to be a “failure” in your own head. 3) after the punch, once again visualize in your head the feeling of having thrown a perfect punch. Same as rep 1 From this you get at least 2 perfect punches reinforced into your subconscious. This makes you more likely to land a perfect punch in the future. If you get 3 out of 3 good, reinforced “reps” then your progress will speed up even further. It helps if you reinforce all this again throughout the day, with pre/post workout journaling. That’s an entire subject on its own though. Hope that makes sense!

After 16:00 thats gold abt bringing ur power shot back fast to not stay open for a counter

Yess you’re right about that. The awesome part, by being preemptively defensive by bringing it back right away, you’re also adding power in the process by adding to the whip/snap at the end of the punch. Offense/defense aren’t necessarily two different things

Great video 🙌🏿 but sadly it's mostly genetics even if you do everything right you won't get the same power

Genetics is a huge factor, of course. Doesn’t mean you can’t strive to find and exceed your personal limits though 💪 and just like he said, power isn’t everything. You can still get knockouts even without crazy power. One of the things that makes martial arts so intriguing!
