How to be an AWESOME Teacher | Brickology Stop Motion
When I got my first job after graduating nursing school, I still had a lot to learn. My preceptor, or teacher, filled in that need. She was responsible for not only showing me around the unit, but she also had the task of teaching me all of the skills I needed in order to function as an independent nurse. That’s a huge undertaking… and I was so lucky to have the best preceptor in the world!
In this LEGO stop motion video, Thomas decides to precept the new grad, Zack. I had fun recalling three moments of my training days: the first time I met my preceptor (teacher), the time when I realized I still had a LOT to do from the check off list, and my continuing encounters with the storeroom.
I remember those days like they happened yesterday.
Teaching takes a lot of patience and understanding, but one thing I think my preceptor did that truly made a difference was to figure out HOW I learn. She took the time to get to know me as a person, and that made her a much more effective teacher. I’m forever grateful to her and hope that someday I can do the same for someone else.
