Literally yesterday I realized / admitted to myself how much body dysmorphia affects me and how obsessed I am with bodychecking. I needed this so much. I also noticed that I watch too much of slim, retouched bodies on social media in beautiful poses and zero regular bodies. So knowing that brain likes what it knows, I decided to fill my feed with more natural bodies + look in the mirror and be watchful of making any judgments or negative comments, just look at myself and get familiar with my body so my brain can actually get used to seeing it more than it's used to seeing other bodies.

Thankyou so much for everything. You have had a huge impact on me taking control of my mental health and living my life in line with the person I knew I would be as a little girl. There’s something profound about looking back, then looking at your present and being proud of how far you’ve come yet still preserved who you-which in my case is someone who lives with passion and motivation really wanting to make the most of every single day. Someone who romanticise about everything in life. I’ve lost myself over the years and found myself again.over and over. But watching your videos always helps me come home to myself and for that I’m forever grateful ❤❤❤

A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is for! So CHOOSE to live your life in such a way that someday, people who don’t even believe in you right now, will later tell glorious stories to their friends and coworkers about how they first met you.

I’m watching this because with my coworkers I act so shy. So instead of doing the body part exercise that you mentioned, I focused on one part of my personality that I’m okay with. All I can think of is, “I like how I listen to my coworkers.” So before I walk out the door I’m going to keep chanting that phrase, and hopefully I’m retraining my mind.

I think my books are worthy of releasing into the world and for people to read them, but I’m still afraid they aren’t good enough or there’s a mistake. Thank you for this pep talk!

The three steps to confidence: 1. Self-talk. You have to speak positively. Start off with affirmations. Your brain will catch on. Celebrate your success! 2. Change your focus. Re-wire your brain and focus on everything good about yourself. Don't focus on your flaws. Embrace the compliments you've received and work on your beautiful parts to make them stand out further. Focus on one part of your body you like. 3. Change the way you treat yourself. Respect yourself. Treat yourself the way you want others to treat you. You deserve everything, no matter what your past mistakes you have made. Forgive yourself. I'd like to share a story. 13 years ago, I met this sweet girl. She was adorable, innocent, so new to the world. As we grew older, she started to acknowledge me less and less. The bullying started in 3rd grade. She would nag me every time she saw my reflection. "You look so ugly. You look fat. You're not worthy of anything." That continued every. single. day for the rest of my life. That girl was me. I was neglecting myself all those years into an unconfident, insecure girl. You have to let go of that version of yourself. You wouldn't survive with a roommate that was nagging you every day. So why do you allow this behavior? Let go of her or him. Become who you want to be without their limitations. It is possible. Thank you Lucie for awakening this in me. I now have a clear path of what I want, and how to achieve it. You are my angel.

Loved this video Lucie! I keep thinking about how comments people make good or bad hold no value unless we agree with them deep inside. And I love how you mentioned forming new neural pathways, I'll definitely look at it that way when trying to build confidence on something. Thanks again for the awesome video!

I have the body dysmorphia and almost every day when I look in the mirror my body is not how I want it. Only when I lose some weight I feel better. Is really difficult
